About me

Sara has worked as a mental health clinical counselor for 8 years with clients ranging from 8-65 years old. Her specialties include those diagnosed with PTSD, oppositional defiant disorder, child and adult trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, and suicidality, couples counseling, and folks who identify as LGBTQ+ and non-binary. She has worked with a diverse population of clients, and is extremely open to feedback and collaboration. Her approach is caring, supportive, validating, and challenging when necessary with the aim of working alongside clients to help assist in gaining insight and finding the best solutions to the identified issues. Sara also believes in the power of creative therapy "homework," humor, and other non-traditional ways of approaching mental health. She is a 4th year doctoral student, and an adjunct instructor as well. Her hobbies include bike riding, being a self-proclaimed "professional" UNO player, and listening to throwback hits from the 90s.

Very progressive and great for people who are turned off by the sterotypical therapy we saw growing up in media like The Sopranos. She seems to be in touch and/or a part of things that millenials, and younger identif,y with but don't feel most older generations really understand.
