About me

My name is Amanda Pelfrey and I am a licensed professional counselor in South Carolina with over 5 years of experience as a counselor. I have worked in different areas and assisted clients with a wide range of mental and behavioral health concerns including depression, anxiety, relationships, parenting problems, trauma, postpartum, health and life changes. I have experience working with clients from multiple backgrounds.

My therapy style is warm and interactive. I am a more conservative therapist. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines different therapy approaches, to include trauma-focused, cognitive behavioral, and problem-solution. I also like using behavioral activation and goal-oriented techniques in my approach to treatment. I will adjust and plan treatment goals to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. I am here to help support you and assist you in working towards living your best life.

I look forward to working with you!

Sarah is so understanding but also willing to challenge me to try things I wouldn’t normally do. I have an odd work schedule and she has always been willing and able to work through those scheduling challenges. She’s amazing.

There are no words that can truly express the gratitude I feel for having contacted Amanda. She is a wonderful, sincere person who listens and cares about what you say and how you feel. I have a bit of previous experience in therapy and I felt like it was not for me. Talking to Amanda changed that and it's only now that I am really looking at the issues and facing them. She's one of a kind and I highly recommend anyone speak to her at least once and you will see

I absolutely adore Amanda, she really listens to what’s going on and challenges your thinking. She helps me understand my feelings and confirms that’s it is okay to feel that way those are your feelings and they are valid. There is no judgement . I manage to cry at just about every session in a good way and she just lets me, and I couldn’t be more appreciative.
