Sarah King, NCPS
About me
Hello and welcome. I’m Sarah, a person-centred, therapeutic counsellor.
I am qualified and experienced in working with adults and young people age 18 and above.
I have worked with those experiencing depression, low-mood, anxiety, suicide ideation, bereavement, relationship/family difficulties, trauma responses and survivors of abuse and sexual assault.
I work inclusively and am neurodivergent and gender affirming.
You may be seeking counselling for a variety of reasons.
Each of us experiences our own personal struggles and life can present us with many challenging, confusing, and sometimes overwhelming issues.
I aim to provide a warm, open and caring environment in a safe and non-judgemental space where you will be heard and accepted.
The counselling service I provide is collaborative and firmly rooted in the person-centred approach. This means, at its very foundation, we always have you - your reality, your feelings and your needs - at the core of our work together.
I may offer some reflective exercises and psycho-educational information for outside sessions. These are offered with no obligation, you are in the driving seat.
My role is not to offer advice or provide answers, but to work alongside you, to help you understand what is right for you.
It’s often difficult and takes real courage to deeply look at what is hurting us, but it is an essential part of healing, and the results can be life changing.
Counselling is not about “fixing” you, it is a process of helping you gain some clarity, to understand yourself, your relationships, your life struggles and supporting you to feel less alone in that journey.
We walk your path, your way, towards self-acceptance and self-awareness and we walk together.

Sarah has a very soothing and calming presence which helps me to open up. She listens so well and is very responsive and encouraging. She also shares great resources that apply to each session and what we’ve spoken about. I’d highly recommend her.

Sarah has been just what I’ve needed as I try to navigate a breakup which has nearly destroyed me. She is kind, respectful, and listened to me & reflected back to me in truly lovely & helpful ways. I have felt heard, supported, and I trust Sarah so much. I will be sad to end our months together, but it’s the right timing to shift to an in-person therapist.
