Shannon Davis, LPC
About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I hold a Baccalaureate degree (BA) in Humanities and a Master’s degree (MS) in Counseling. My formal education and professional experience have prepared me to counsel individuals, couples, families and groups
My primary theoretical approach is cognitive behavior therapy. This is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. My goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind client’s difficulties, and so change the way they feel.
I am committed to helping all individuals. I understand asking for help can be challenging and uncomfortable for some. My goal is to create a space where the client can be open, vulnerable, and communicate their feelings without judgment. I work with clients from all backgrounds and cultural settings. I personally invite you to experience finding hope within yourself to navigate through life.
I invite clients to my office. It’s warm and welcoming. Our first session is a Consultation. During this session we will discuss why you have chosen to seek counseling as a solution to your needs. The next few sessions will involve an evaluation of your needs. I will be able to offer you some first impressions of what our work will include and a treatment plan to follow, if you decide to continue with therapy. Therapy involves a large commitment of time and resources such as money and mental and emotional energy, so it is important to select the right therapist to work with you and your family.

Challenges me, gently shows me what I’m doing that’s not working and then demonstrates a calmer, better way to respond. She is tender but firm, always professional. Highly recommend.

Shannon is a great listener and was able to help reframe a lot of my false narratives and give practical action steps at the end of each session.

Shannon is amazing. She’s fun, understanding, and not at all judgemental like some therapists I’ve encountered. She’s really professional and I highly recommend her work :)

I’ve seen a few therapists, most of which have not made me feel as comfortable and safe as Shannon has. I don’t feel as if am overreacting or judged; it’s a completely safe environment to explore my feelings. I always leave the session a little lighter and more optimistic about the week ahead!
