About me

I am a licensed clinical social worker with 35 years of experience in a variety of settings. At the beginning of my career, I worked in hospice, oncology, and home care agencies for 15 years. I then became certified to work in school settings, where I worked for the next 15 years. For the last five years, I worked in a private practice with children, adolescents, and families, addressing emotional and social challenges that interfere with activities of daily living.

Outside of these professional experiences, I have also worked at several camps for children. One was specifically for children with speech and language and social emotional learning challenges. I also volunteered for many summers at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, which is a camp in Connecticut for children with serious illnesses. Additionally, I have been fortunate to supervise social workers working towards their licenses.

Now, as a clinician in private practice, I am thrilled to use my skills to assist children, adolescents, and adults who are facing challenges and stressors in today’s world. My experiences provide me with the skills necessary to support those faced with challenges that accompany anxiety, depression, and social communication disorders as well as ASD and ADHD. My goal as a therapist is to help those with mental health challenges learn tools and strategies to cope with the stressors and challenges of daily life while identifying and defining their own goals.

Sheri is a tremendous therapist who has changed my life. She not only listens to understand but knows exactly when to give encouragement, empathy, or a nudge in the right direction. Over the past 8 months Sheri has helped me improve my life immeasurably. I still look forward to our weekly discussions and know that the plan we put together will continue to help me improve day by day.

Sheri helped me so much through a painful transition in my life. She listened to my story, fears, worries, etc. and gave me a plan of action to get my life back on track (which I did!). She was a wonderful therapist and I’m fortunate that BetterHelp connected me with her.

I've only had 2 sessions so far with Sheri. Just in those 2 sessions I feel that Sheri listens to my thoughts and concerns. Sheri also helps by suggesting things that can help me cope with the issues that I'm going through. I look forward to the other sessions with her.

Sheri has been my therapist for a little over a year. She’s amazing and has helped me reach my therapy goals. She’s very easy to talk to, a great listener. She responds in a timely matter. She has helped me achieve what I thought was impossible. I can’t tell you how grateful I am. I’m going to miss her.

Sheri was wonderful to work with. I have tried several therapists and never stuck with it more than 3 session because I felt like they did not understand me. Sheri met me where I was and did not try to make things more than they were. Overall it was a very helpful experience. I would highly recommend.
