About me

My name is Sherie Posie LPC. I am a fully Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan. I have over 15 years of experience working in Mental Health, Psychology, Counseling and Human Services. Life can sometimes present us with challenges. They can range from employment and relationship issues to the loss of loved ones. There are times when having someone there to take that difficult journey with you is beneficial. I am here to do just that. I have experience working with teens, adolescents, adults, seniors, men, women, couples, and families. I specialize in mental health, grief, trauma, depression, panic and anxiety disorders, sexual abuse, domestic violence, issues affecting the LGBTQ community, homeless populations, and people of color.
In my practice compassion and empathy are an integral part of the therapeutic process. Through therapy, I assist and guide my clients to develop and maintain strong cognitive and emotional wellness; All while coaching them through obstacles of adversity. The clients are the experts about their lives. I firmly believe that individuals have the Power to create the change they want and need in their lives. My desire is to be an agent of change by providing access to healing. No two people are exactly alike therefore we all process things differently. I use a combination of theoretical approaches to help meet my client’s needs. They include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness Theory. Remember every day you wake up is a chance to start again. Let me accompany you on your journey to Rise like the Phoenix.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Sherie Posie. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Sherie is a very empathetic and experienced therapist. She is an active listener with a casual approach that feels like a chat with a close friend. Talking to her truly makes my day because of her positive outlook and help with reframing my mindset.

I also appreciate that we talk about action steps at the end of each session to hold me accountable for staying active in my healing journey. Much like a phoenix, those with a trauma history can emerge from the ashes and find moments of joy.
