Sherri Brothers, LPC
About me
I have gratefully worked with clients for over 20 years, within a local social service agency. I have expertise working with individuals and families impacted by the child welfare system and with individuals who have experienced trauma. I specialize in relationship issues, stress and anxiety management, adjustment disorder and LGBTQ concerns.
I received my Bachelor's Degree from Virginia Tech and my Master's Degree from the University of Connecticut. I specialized in Marriage and Family Therapy in my Master's program and consider that a valuable foundation to my profession.
I know taking the first step to research and find a good therapist can be difficult. But now you're here, so we can get started! I want to get to know you better and examine the issues you are currently facing. Then we will explore your motivation for counseling and identify your goals in therapy. I want to make the most of the time we have together.
I enjoy and welcome working with any race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identification or other "labels" we put on people. We all have something to offer, and finding your strengths and how you can use them to move forward, is my personal goal for our sessions.
I look forward to working with you!

Sherri is just flat out amazing! She helps me process things that are going on in my life and she often helps me see things from a perspective that I hadn't considered, which is extremely helpful. Sherri is always supportive and she helps me feel empowered to tackle whatever issues I'm facing. She has helped me navigate some of my darkest days, and I know she's always there for me when I need her to be my voice of reason. On a scale from 1-10, Sherri is a 100!

I've been working with Sherri for at least a month now and she really has helped me tremendously. From moving on from my past trauma to moving forward to be the best version of myself, she's always there to listen and give feedback. She's so friendly, understanding, and caring. She's very easy to talk to and truly such a wonderful part of my week is getting to chat with her.
