I will assist you in reaching your goals through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT is a short-term, highly focused therapy shown to be the best treatment for various problems, it is an active goal-oriented treatment aimed at solving problems and reducing symptoms by focusing on the present. CBT helps people solve the problems they currently face, resulting in greater treatment gains in a shorter period of time.
Essentially, the client brings in the problems they’d like to overcome or the situations they find stressful, the therapist and client work together to create an action plan. An action plan means they identify the problematic thoughts or behaviors, find a way to change them, and develop a strategy to implement this change during treatment.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy involves the use of well-researched self-help skills as homework assignments to actively change thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This approach allows significant improvement to occur much earlier in treatment than in traditional talk therapy. Typical homework might include relaxation exercises, keeping a journal of thoughts and emotions throughout the week, using worksheets that target a specific area of growth, reading a book that applies to your issues, or seeking out situations to apply your new approach.
As a result, cognitive behavioral therapy can help you make changes faster, end treatment sooner, and teach you to become your own best resource to solve problems.
