Stephanie Garrett, LMFT
About me
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Alabama with over sixteen years of experience working as a counselor for a wide range of concerns. I have worked with individuals and families dealing with anxiety, child related specific issues, relationship issues, couple issues, parenting problems, trauma and many other issues. I always approach every individual and situation from a trauma informed lens when counseling.
My counseling style is warm and engaging. I believe it is important to treat everyone with respect. One of the main ways I show respect is by really listening to hear your story. I also use a strength-based approach utilizing the individual’s strengths to overcome the challenges they may face. The main counseling approach I use is a cognitive-behavioral therapy counseling approach. I incorporate many other styles based on the client's needs.
Thank you for taking the step toward health and healing through counseling. It isn’t easy to begin this journey, but you have taken the brave first step that will bring positive change in your life. I look forward to working to support you on this journey.

Stephanie was very supportive during a major transition in my relationship. She helped me to work through a number of issues and gave me tools to help move forward. After a couple of negative experiences with other counsellors, Stephanie really helped me to see the value in therapy.
