Stephanie Silva, LCSW
About me
I have extensive experience working with diverse populations including children and adults, military and civilians, individuals with special needs, patients with traumatic brain injuries, domestic violence, retirees and veterans, and case management.
I served in the military and have experience in many settings, to include Deployment Case Manager, Emergency Room Social Worker, and Family Advocacy Social Worker providing care to clients that were in situations of domestic violence, sexual assault, exhibiting suicidal behavior, and drug using or seeking behavior as well as working with local agencies such as Child Protective Services, Homeless Shelters, Battered Women Shelters, Victims’ Advocates, Army Community Service personnel, other branches of the military, and also with professionals assigned to military bases and civilian agencies all around the world.
My counseling style is understanding and interactive. I believe in treating everyone in a respectful manner and with compassion. My approach is a combination of cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral therapy, and reality therapy. I do not believe in a "one size fits all" treatment mentality, and will design a treatment plan that will address specific goals and needs.
To begin to implement changes in ones life can be scary. I am here to help help guide and motivate you during this process. I look forward to working with you!
