Stephen is great. My biggest thing that I didn’t want to happen in therapy was bland questions and for me to talk the entire time. I think Stephen does a good job with listening and with encouraging. I want to hear from someone who can provide me wisdom, and offer up activities or advice for me throughout my week. I believe that when I hang up from our sessions, I feel good about the time spent, I feel encouraged for the next session and to come back with more than just sob stories. I believe that Stephen is also really good about pointing out victories that I have glanced over, when I may be hyper focused on my failures or short-comings. One of the first things that Stephen ever told me was, “it’s not about perfection, it’s about maturity.” That piece of wisdom that he shared with me, changed the way I looked at a lot of things and how I approach growth.

I consider myself extremely lucky to have been assigned Stephen as a therapist on first try. I would still be lost without his support.

He is exactly what I had in mind when looking at therapy. He has mindfulness and foresight. He cares and remember previous sessions. My life is on the up and up in a very positive direction since starting therapy with him. Mr. Garman has a gift.
