About me

I am a New York state Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working as a psychotherapist and life coach. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, OCD and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma and emotional abuse and abandonment.

I have become proficient in providing direct clinical care with participants who identify within a range of sexual orientations, ethnicities, economic statuses and mental health concerns.

I consider my style as warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels or the enforcement of being the expert; we will always be a team who collaboratively explores your hardships.

I have an eclectic approach which combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, Gestalt as well as other forms of evidence based counseling models to name a few. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs to aid you in achieving your goals in a manner that fits within your chosen pathway.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Stephen has been great. Very understanding and insightful. He has helped me look at my thoughts in different ways allowing me to broaden how I react and feel about them and my situations.

Stephen's approach is empowering! I've learnt to not dwell on past experiences and focus on building strength in the present and focus on what I can become in the future. He stresses a lot the power of now and empowers you to gain control over your reactions, to understand your emotions deeply, observe them and distance yourself from them so that you can control the effect of the external world on you. Every session is a powerful source of positive energy and hope. He has an incredible insight ability. He knows how to question what is said in order to get to the source of an issue, but most importantly has an eye for all that is left unsaid. He helps me to become the best version of myself, find power from within and eases my mind. The best thing about his work is that he empowers me to create these feelings for myself even when he's not around. I would wholeheartedly recommend Stephen to anyone!
