Susanne Short, LICSW, LCSW
About me
I am licensed in New Mexico, Colorado, and Minnesota with over 20 years of professional work experience. I have experience helping clients with trauma, interpersonal conflict, relationship and intimacy struggles, and self-esteem issues. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and couples. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I am passionate about supporting and guiding people as they heal from trauma and find joy and meaning in a new life. Therapy can be hard, at times, but it can also be filled with humor, connection, and fun!

Susanne has listened to me since our first correspondence. She is honest, candid, caring, humorous - all while not shying away from helping me to learn the best way to approach the hard stuff. Having her in my life has been a game changer for me. Knowing that I can seek her out to work through hard spots, that I am able to schedule regular sessions, but that I can also send a message as I am in the moment - and, choose to share journal entries with her - makes a huge positive impact on my life. I have gone from feeling STUCK, to feeling SO MUCH HOPE within the first month of meeting with her.
I wanted a therapist that was able to help hold me accountable. She does this with such an appreciated balance of caring, and giving me goals to work on.

I've had a very positive experience with Susanne. It's been a lot like having a wise friend who you don't have to worry you are boring or monopolizing the conversation with. I appreciate her grounded approach and feel I've gained many useful insights from our time together.

Susanne is a breath of fresh air! I’ve never had a therapist before, but I think she’s probably the best therapist anyone could ask for, hands-down. She’s so supportive, down-to-earth, funny, non-judgmental, and she has lots of different recommendations and treatment methods, not just a cookie-cutter approach.
