Takesha Briggins, LCMHC
About me
Hello! My name is Takesha and I earned my MS.Ed in Counseling from Old Dominion University. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. I have been a professional counselor for 12 years and worked in a variety of settings with diverse populations. I have worked with adolescents in schools, adults in community settings, and families as an intensive in-home clinician.
Over the years, I have served a wide variety of people and enjoy motivating others to make positive changes in their journey to personal growth and discovery. I view therapy as a collaborative relationship that focuses on the client. I utilize a humanistic, non-judgemental approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Person Centered, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy frameworks.
I am passionate about helping others navigate through issues related to anxiety, depression, stress management, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, mindfulness, self compassion, academia, and career to name a few. I welcome the opportunity to offer a safe and comfortable environment for all and am dedicated to supporting the unique experiences of marginalized populations.

Ms. Briggins is attentive and inquisitive in her sessions. She asks the right questions to further develop self actualization. Her warmness and open demeanor provide a sense of safety for emotional exploration and processing of trauma. I would highly recommend her as a highly effective therapist.
