Working with a licensed therapist can provide a non-judgmental space for working through your unique challenges, like navigating relationship difficulties, improving low self-esteem, or managing the symptoms of mental health conditions like anxiety or depression.

If you’re looking for a therapist, AZ has many options for online therapy. Barriers to treatment, like transportation issues or concerns about cost, can make finding the right therapist challenging. Plus, you may live in a part of the state where access to Tucson or Phoenix therapists is limited. Telehealth services through a platform like BetterHelp can give you convenient and flexible mental health care from the comfort of your home at a time that works for you.

BetterHelp does not provide group therapy or treatment designed for children, like play therapy at this time. However, the psychologists, social workers, and other professionals on the platform can guide you through various modalities, including narrative therapy, art therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Plus, you can change providers at any time until you find the right therapeutic relationship for you.

If you’re looking for a therapist in Flagstaff, Phoenix, Tucson, or the surrounding areas, connect with a provider licensed in Arizona below to learn more about the therapeutic process and take a step toward improving your mental health.

Hello! Thank you for considering me as your counselor. Let me give you an overview of my counseling style, education, experience and personal background. Counseling Style: My theoretical approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe our thoughts lead to our emotions and behaviors. Initially, I use worksheets to help you uncover underlying beliefs you have about events or issues that lead to uncomfortable emotions or self-defeating behaviors. I also like to tie in neurobiology to help you understand that we can manipulate the way our brains work to speed up change. I tend to use humor initially to break the ice and normalize behaviors. Education: I earned by Masters of Counseling at University of Phoenix in 2002. I also received a Master of Arts in Organizational Management in 2001 at University of Phoenix. I was pursuing my Doctorate in Neuropsychology at Argosy University from 2010 - 2013 but my life plan changed so I decided not to complete the degree. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Arizona University. I am required to complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years to maintain my license; therefore, I have extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Posttramatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), neuropsychology, depression and anxiety. Experience: I started in the mental health field as a Crisis Counselor for the Phoenix Fire Department for four years while I was getting my Masters degrees. After graduation, I became a Crisis Counselor in emergency rooms throughout the Valley for six years. I transitioned into a traditional counselor position specializing in PTSD with police officers, fire fighters, and military personnel. I also really enjoyed working with people in life transitions (careers, school, retirement, marriage, dating, etc.). I became the Director of Psychological Health for the Arizona Army National Guard in 2013 working with soldiers in pre- and post-deployment phases, suicide prevention, PTSD, and military sexual trauma. When that contract ended, I helped open Quail Run Behavioral Health Hospital as the Director of Intake & Assessment. I currently work for Arizona's state crisis system and am in a telecommuting position. I missed individual counseling and am thrilled to be a part of the Better Help team. Personal Background: I am a 3rd generation native Arizonan (my mom and grandmother were born and raised in Phoenix which is very rare). I grew up in Flagstaff and moved to Phoenix after graduating from NAU. I decided to pursue a counseling career after my aunt's experience in the emergency room when my uncle died suddenly and unexpectedly at 46 years old. I knew there was a compassionate way to deliver heartbreaking and life-changing information. I also had a wonderful counselor who helped me recover from PTSD after my brief stint in the military. I have been divorced twice and recently relocated to Phoenix to be closer to family & friends. I have 2 spoiled dachshunds and love to travel and am learning to crochet. Thank you for taking time to read my bio and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

Hi. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Texas, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Arizona. I am also pending in Tennessee and New Mexico. I am a NBCCH (National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and I am also a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS). Navigating life can be hard. There is no manual, and many of us did not grow up with good models or examples we want to emulate. Some of us are seeking tools and resources to evolve and grow beyond our current limits, others need a sounding board or someone who believes in us and can cheer us on. Regardless of your need, my goal is to help. As human beings, we all find that we need other perspectives, support, ideas and ways of being, at various points in our lives. I would love to be that for you. I have worked with individuals and groups for over 20 years, both in a clinical setting as well as in a crisis intervention capacity. I have witnessed and assisted people from essentially birth to death with all things related to being human and all the beauty and complexities that come with that. My one desire as a therapist, is to always leave people better than I found them. I will meet you where you are with sensitivity, warmth and compassion, and we will walk this healing path together at a pace that is set by you. I believe establishing a strong rapport with mutual respect is key in achieving lasting change. I believe the way in which we have experienced life dictates how we choose to live each day and the quality of our relationships, influences how we cope with stress, sadness and even joy that life inevitably brings. I use a combination of therapy to help clients identify problematic or distressing patterns or behavior, reflect on how their experiences in life have shaped these patterns and encourage clients to discuss possible solutions. I combine many therapeutic modalities to develop your treatment plan by using a strengths-based approach to empower goals tailored to your needs and areas of concern. No two of us are alike and we all experience life differently. Therefore, the approach to healing must also be flexible. My goal is to establish a connection, whereby both you and I will partner, addressing that each person is an individual and worthy of a safe space to heal and be present in their goals as an evolving human being. I believe that prioritizing one's mental health is an investment in self, and is an active step towards your healing journey.
I acknowledge the courage it takes to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and commend you for your choice in reaching for that goal. I look forward to working together. *once a session has been scheduled, I will message you to touch base and confirm. If you do not see a day or time available that suits your needs, please reach out to me via the therapy room message option and we will work together to schedule a mutually agreed upon session.*

Currently, my availability on BetterHelp is Mondays only. If more availability is required, another provider may better fit your needs. Welcome! My name is Enros, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). I work with individuals (children, adolescents, and adults), families, and couples. I welcome all families, traditional and non-traditional. I am fully licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Florida, Nevada, Ohio, and Vermont. My specialties include relationships, families, grief, and trauma. Additionally, as a military veteran, I have a unique perspective of veterans: separation, deployment, and the rigors of military life. I approach therapy as a collaborator, not an expert. I find the most joy in learning about you directly from you. Relationships are complicated, especially the relationships that are most important to us. Many of us feel the need for connection, security, and love. However, sometimes we end up hurt and alone. Relational pain can show up as anxiety, fear, depression, or grief, among other things. I firmly believe that relationships, empathy, and humor are the most powerful tools for helping clients experience lasting change. My most significant reward as a professional helper is watching my clients go from despair to possibility. I look forward to working with you!

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Some of the most commonly asked questions about therapy can be found in the section below.

How much does a therapist cost?

Mental health professionals can differ in price. Forbes found that the average cost of in-person therapy in the US is around $100 to $200 per hour. Pricing can also vary based on your location.

BetterHelp offers payment plans of $60 to $90 per session, charged monthly in a lump sum. You can also take advantage of this pricing on one of BetterHelp's sister platforms, like ReGain for couples or TeenCounseling for teens aged 13 to 19.

Many therapists may be upfront about their pricing and whether or not they take health insurance from the beginning. Additionally, some in your area may offer a sliding scale plan to allow those with lower incomes to pay less for therapy. However, services online can often save individuals a few hundred dollars per month.

When should I get a therapist in Arizona?

Mental health services and mental health providers may help you navigate various concerns. You do not need a diagnosis or condition to attend therapy; You can discuss grief, relationship concerns, stress, or life changes and ask for general advice. A counselor may help you gain power over your life and emotions while you navigate day-to-day experiences.

Mental health issues don't always present as a crisis. Many professionals provide talk therapy and support for life transitions, skills learning, relationship problems, or life coaching. Online therapy sessions can allow clients seeking therapy to experience professional help through video, phone, or live chat sessions without commuting to an office.

Does insurance cover the cost of therapy?

Different counseling services can vary in cost. Therapists must apply to accept insurance through insurance companies, which may take time and money, so not every therapist offers services through insurance. If you cannot find a therapist that accepts your plan, BetterHelp may be cheaper than visiting an in-person therapist.

Is online therapy the safe option?

Online therapy through BetterHelp and its sister platforms is safe. Therapists are licensed, experienced, and vetted before being contracted with the platform. If you experience any concerns with your therapist, you change your counselor through the platform or app at any time.

In today's fast-paced society, mental well-being has become a cornerstone of a fulfilling life. Amid the daily challenges and stressors that can overwhelm even the most resilient individuals, seeking professional guidance often offers a path to clarity and balance. The journey toward improved emotional health involves understanding personal triggers, embracing self-compassion, and developing effective coping strategies. While self-help books and online resources provide valuable information, nothing compares to the personalized support offered by a qualified mental health professional. One-on-one sessions with experienced experts can help uncover the underlying issues contributing to anxiety, depression, or other emotional hurdles. With a careful and empathetic approach, these professionals tailor their advice to suit individual needs, ensuring that each person receives strategies that work best for their unique circumstances. Whether through cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, or other innovative methods, the aim is to foster resilience and empower individuals to take control of their inner lives. For those living in bustling urban centers, engaging in face-to-face sessions in a welcoming environment can be particularly beneficial. Access to a caring clinician provides not only a safe space to explore difficult emotions but also builds a support network essential for long-term recovery. The process encourages self-reflection and greater insight into behavioral patterns that might otherwise go unnoticed. While the journey can be challenging at times, the rewards include enhanced emotional stability, improved interpersonal relationships, and a renewed sense of self-worth. In one notable case, the guidance provided by a highly trained therapist proved instrumental in navigating a tumultuous period. Through structured sessions and tailored interventions, the individual learned to identify stressors and develop healthier responses to adversity. This experience underscored the transformative impact that dedicated support can have on one's overall quality of life. In a region like Texas, community-based initiatives and accessible mental health programs further reinforce the value of professional help. These efforts emphasize early intervention, preventive care, and continuous support, ensuring that more people are equipped to face life's inevitable challenges. Ultimately, investing in mental well-being is an act of self-care that yields lifelong benefits. By embracing professional support, individuals can unlock new levels of emotional resilience and discover pathways to a brighter, more balanced future. Each step taken toward healing represents a commitment to personal growth, enabling a life filled with renewed optimism and strength. Embracing this transformative journey consistently paves the way for deeper understanding, lasting peace, and meaningful personal progress.
