Thank you very much for checking here: I hope to be of service to you. My 15+ years of experience includes many years of counseling and listening, across various cultures, ages and personal client needs, with a few years as adjunct professor at Louisiana State University, Shreveport, LA: 3 years of work as a patient counselor in a hospital psychiatric unit, and 3 years of practice in a pediatric clinic. My current solo practice is empathetic, accepting and non-judgmental, having also practiced as an EAP (employee counselor) in a very large hospital and city system, in which I was required to see anyone for any situation or issue they may bring to counseling. This unique opportunity provided me with insights and understanding of people beyond my own personal scope of experience. I believe this has made me more sensitive to the needs, hurts and stress of the various clients I serve. I am generally available 7 days a week for appointments, because I really do enjoy my practice and my clients. I am old enough to enjoy my 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, together with my wife in a delightful sharing relationship. This creates a relaxed, accepting and strong relationship and family foundation for your counseling needs. My personal strengths hopefully convey to you a caring and positive mindset as we work together. Hope to hear from you soon!

I am currently a certified school counselor and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Louisiana for the last 3 years. I have over 12 years of experience working with children and families as a school counselor. I have had specialized training in play therapy, bully prevention, applied suicide intervention training (ASIST), and currently hold a tele-mental health certification. I have previously operated a domestic violence crisis line, provided anger management classes for students and parents, and was the coordinator of an afterschool program for middle school students. My counseling style is meeting my clients where they are at present and providing unconditional positive regard. My approach to therapy is client centered, solution focused and cognitive behavioral. I am not adverse to trying new approaches if I feel that it will help my client achieve their goals for counseling. I believe even the strongest people sometimes need extra support. It takes wisdom and courage to ask for help. If you are ready to take the next steps, I will be your partner in building a strong healthy future.

I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, stress, life changes, self-esteem, codependency, addictions, relationship issues, PTSD, and grief and loss. I have also helped many people who have struggled with the effects of childhood trauma and abusive relationships. I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling in December of 2016, in New Orleans, LA. I approach therapy from a client-centered perspective: You determine your goals and direction for therapy, and I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I conduct therapy through a strengths-based and solutions-focused lens, and I draw on multiple treatment modalities to help clients achieve their desired goals, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance-and-Commitment Therapy. More specifically, I aim to help clients change their thoughts and perspectives to become more realistic and encouraging, while emphasizing purposeful acceptance and willingness to change. I also utilize interventions from Cognitive Processing Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help clients process traumatic experiences and manage difficult emotions. It takes courage to seek help to achieve positive changes and healing for a more fulfilling life. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you!

I received a master’s in professional counseling in 2012 from Grand Canyon University. I have more than nearly 20 years of experience in the helping professions. I have had the pleasure of working with a range of people experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, and symptoms of severe, persistent mental illness (SPMI). Over the past 7 years I have worked in mental rehabilitation centers as well as intensive outpatient programs. I believe in fostering the skills needed for effective coping mechanisms for overall wellness. I have ongoing collaborative initiatives with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, primary care, social service agencies. Deciding to engage in therapy can be overwhelming. Finding a therapist whose personality and style is a quintessential component in the therapeutic alliance. Brianne Phillips
Welcome! My name is Brianne Phillips. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Kansas, Missouri, North Dakota, and Louisiana, and hold the credential of a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. Over the past 17 years, I have spent my time as a social worker in various settings: in schools, in private practice, in a hospital, with youth in foster care, and with survivors of domestic violence. Even though the settings were all different, one thing stayed the same. Our success and challenges are influenced by our lived experiences and our perceptions of these experiences. I have helped people cope with change, parenting challenges, relationship stressors and conflicts, trauma, and managing the everyday stressors that go along with life in general. When I’m working with clients, I genuinely want to get to know you. Starting sessions with a new therapist can seem a bit intimidating. Making sure you feel heard and valued is important to me. I want you to know you’ve got someone in your corner. For me, learning about the different parts of your life is important as we embark on this journey. As a social worker, I believe in taking a holistic approach to therapy; looking at the big picture rather than one tiny segment. Once we see where you fit into the big picture and how your perceptions and experiences have shaped your behavior, we can begin to challenge your thought processes to change your thinking and/or past behaviors. We all know the saying, “If you continue to do the same thing, you’ll continue to get the same result.” I am confident that as a team, you and I can take on the challenges you’re facing, so you can try new ideas and begin to see positive results.

Michelle St. Raymond
LIFE IS CHANGE! I am a heart-centered licensed clinical social worker and Board Approaved Clinical Supervisor (LCSW-BACS) working in Louisiana but also licensed in South Carolina. I come from the New Orleans/Covington area as a life long resident, Southern bred but with exposure to diversity having lived in San Juan, Puerto Rico. My passion and my work is centered around trauma recovery, family of origin programming, relationship growth and change. I also specialize in natural healing modalities, mindfulness, in supporting families and individuals in transition, struggling with anxiety and self expression. Transitions from the old to the new is stressful, especially when the new is not yet formed. Our bodies, minds and even emotions can get stuck as we are called forward through aging, job changes, health issues and family re-creations. Letting go to move forward can require new skills and new ways of thinking and most of all compassionate self-acceptance. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a powerful tool that can support new ways of thinking when the old no longer serves. Additionally, inner body awareness supports healthy mind/body connection. Nurturing body, mind and spirit is essential for successful transitioning, especially in our current turbulent times. As we collaborate and co-create a new direction for your life, your dreams and wishes will guide us. Your life centered in the here and now can lead to healthy goals and behaviors to carry you forward. No change takes place without action, and having a heart center guide can make it easier. I can be a guide, but you are the leader.

Jackie Potts-Powell
I am licensed in Louisiana and Texas with 20 years of professional work experience. I have a Master of Education Degree in Community Counseling from The University of Louisiana at Monroe. I hold Louisiana license number 2935 as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Louisiana license number 858 as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Texas license number 77206 as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am a Board Approved Supervisor of Provisional Licensed Professional Counselors (PLPCs) in Louisiana. I also hold Teletherapy Privilege. I approach counseling from a present focused and ecological perspective. I encourage clients to work towards self-awareness, being action and strength oriented in order to have the capacity to find within themselves the resources necessary to solve their problems and to discover the conditions that will make change possible. I accept a client’s immediate family relationships and larger social context as being important resources in solving life’s problems. I assist individuals in increasing their self-awareness through active techniques. Techniques that I often employ are instruction and modeling of communication skills, family role-playing, empty chair, fantasy work and between session interactive assignments. This “homework” is a vital part of the therapeutic process. The completion of homework is necessary if the client is to get the most from the therapeutic experience. I have experience working with adults who are experiencing difficulties in life that may include also having a mental health diagnosis. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
