It is highly important for me to create an environment of genuineness, trust, humor, respect, and spontaneity. The counseling relationship can be an intimate and vulnerable space. My hope is to honor this by giving you the space to carve out your own existence within our relationship. Jennifer Rochel
Welcome! My name is Jennifer Rochel and I am licensed clinical social worker. If you are exploring better help, it is likely that you are struggling with something significant in your life. I'd like to help. Finding the right counselor that you feel comfortable with is important to have a good alliance in meeting your goals. I believe that creating a safe environment for my client and developing a caring relationship is critical to successful therapy. I'd like to tell you about myself so you can see if we are a good fit. I have been a social worker for more than 15 years and have experience working with people from all different backgrounds who are struggling with a wide variety of challenges. Much of my experience has been working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and mood disorders. I have experience working with children and families in the child protection system, school system, and private practice setting. I use a person-centered, holistic, multicultural, and integrative approach in treatment. This means I begin where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your needs while being sensitive to how your individual cultural identities and lifestyle choices impact your experience. I primarily use evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling.
Drauzin Kern
My name is Drauzin Kern and I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker. Over the past thirty 36 years, I have been fortunate to have worked closely with clients over a broad range of challenges including depression, coping with grief and loss, LGBTQIA+ related concerns, relationship issues, compassion fatigue and managing life-changes. I completed my graduate studies at Columbia University School of Social Work in New York in 1988 and I practiced psychotherapy in New York, California and Louisiana. My husband Nick and I currently make our home in South Louisiana, USA, along with a wonderful cat named Willis. Being a therapist is my life’s work. My intention is to meet every client with respect, understanding, compassion and without judgement. My theoretical approach incorporates Humanistic and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and I work collaboratively with every client to develop a treatment plan that will best address their needs. I have great admiration for every person that chooses the path of vulnerability when entering therapy. Vulnerability, according to Brene Brown, is STRENGTH. But it can take great courage to embrace our vulnerable humanity, but when we do, we are already on the path of transformation and joy. Vulnerability allows us to "speak our truth," and the TRUTH always sets us free. Best wishes!
Benjamin Savant
Greetings! My name is B. Tucker Savant, MA, LPC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Louisiana. I have worked in the mental health field for 11+ years in both inpatient and outpatient settings with adolescents and adults. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, change, grief and loss, relationship struggles, occupational struggles, and post-traumatic stress. I see counseling as a process in which you, the client, and I, the Counselor, develop trust in one another in order to work together to identify and define present problems and past conflicts, develop long and short term goals for life improvements and work as a team to achieve those goals. My goal is to assist people in working towards fulfilling their fullest potential by guiding them through their challenges in order to develop new and healthier insights and perspectives on their lives. My approach to counseling can be seen as eclectic, as I use various counseling techniques depending on the individual traits of each client and the circumstances through which each client is going. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Reality Therapy encompass the majority of how our sessions will be conducted. I believe that thoughts, emotions and behaviors interactively influence each other and that it is important for each client to focus on the present to understand what he or she can and cannot do directly and to realize that the only person whose behavior and thoughts he or she can control are his or her own. SERVICES OFFERED: PHONE VIDEO LICENSING: Louisiana LPC #3893 (Expires 6/30/2024)

Dr. Yael Banai
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Louisiana and have been for thirty years. Though I have practiced most frequently in a school environment, I have worked in other settings with a variety of populations, including teens and young adults. My areas of expertise include ADHD, anxiety and depression and personality disorders. My therapy style is low key and empathetic, with regard for the individual as a person of uniqueness with strengths and weaknesses that defy often negative labels. I use a variety of modalities in my approach, including cognitive behavioral, rational emotive, psychodynamic / transactional analysis and humanistic approaches. The approach(es) used and the eventual treatment plan will be tailored to the unique needs of the individual. Therapy is a journey, and like most journeys, it begins with a single step that may well be tempered by fear or doubt. The road to change take courage to begin with that first step into a future that offers a promise for tomorrow.

Although psychologists often support people with mental health conditions, you do not need a diagnosis or specific condition. You can discuss grief, relationship concerns, stress, or life changes and ask for general feedback. A Independence licensed clinical social worker may help you gain power over your life and emotions while you navigate day-to-day experiences.
Gaining a new perspective on yourself through various therapies might allow you to improve your self-esteem, work through relationships, and gain a better sense of your mental health goals. The success you may find with a Independence counselor can be dependent on your process.
People may also attend therapy for specific motives, such as bullying, an autism diagnosis, a desire to learn mindfulness meditation, personality concerns, trouble with office workers, specific phobias, and many other principles that a counselor can help with.

Mental health professionals are held by ethical standards through the American Psychological Association (APA) and are not allowed to judge or harm their clients.
