I work full-time as the Program Manager of an Opioid Treatment Center (OTP) in which Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT - Methadone and Suboxone ) is utilized as part of the recovery process for opioid addition. Substances are most often used as a means of coping as there are typically underlying experiences/trauma people work hard to avoid re-experiencing.
