Hi, my name is Jerry, I have over 30 years counseling experience in the mental health field, I specialize in working with adults who have problems with depression and anxiety and general everyday life concerns and PTSD. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oklahoma. I believe that counseling is a process that helps you become the person you want to be, not by giving advice but by working together to help you solve your concerns. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as my preferred choice of treatment. CBT for shorts offers a variety of tools that be can be used to speed up your progress. I usually recommend a book called "Understanding, subtitled, Finding Peace and Serenity in Life and Relationships, this is to help you better understand the principles of CBT If you would like to check this book out it can be found on Amazon.com, it is a very old book but a good book. Please let me know at anytime if you have any questions or concerns about this or anything else. FYI - Symptoms of depression include: feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness or hopelessness, angry outbursts, irritability or frustration, even over small matters, loss of interest or pleasure in most or all normal activities, such as sex, hobbies or sports, sleep disturbances, including insomnia or sleeping too much, tiredness and lack of energy, so even small tasks take extra effort, reduced appetite and weight loss or increased cravings for food and weight gain, anxiety, agitation or restlessness, slowed thinking, speaking or body movements, feelings of worthlessness or guilt, fixating on past failures or self-blame, trouble thinking, concentrating, making decisions and remembering things, frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts or suicide. Symptoms of anxiety include: common anxiety signs and symptoms include: feeling nervous, restless or tense, having a sense of impending danger, panic or doom, having an increased heart rate, breathing rapidly, experiencing, having difficulty controlling worry, having the urge to avoid things that trigger anxiety. I also work with trauma victims who suffer from symptoms of PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Post-traumatic stress disorder is a mental health condition that's triggered by a terrifying event - either experiencing it or witnessing it. Symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares, and severe anxiety, as well as uncontrollable thoughts about the event. Most people who go through traumatic events may have temporary difficulty adjusting and coping, but with time and good self-care, they usually get better. If the symptoms get worse, last for months or even years, and interfere with your day-to-day functioning, you may have PTSD. Symptoms can include all of the following: Symptoms of negative changes in thinking and mood may include: negative thoughts about yourself, other people or the world, hopelessness about the future. Memory problems, including not remembering important aspects of the traumatic event, difficulty maintaining close relationships, feeling detached from family and friend, lack of interest in activities you once enjoyed, difficulty experiencing positive emotions, feeling emotionally numb. Changes in physical and emotional reactions. Symptoms of changes in physical and emotional reactions (also called arousal symptoms) may include: being easily startled or frightened, always being on guard for danger, self-destructive behavior, such as drinking too much or driving too fast, trouble sleeping, trouble concentrating, irritability, angry outbursts or aggressive behavior and overwhelming guilt or shame. Getting effective treatment after PTSD symptoms develop can be critical to reduce symptoms and improve function. Symptoms can include, Avoidance Symptoms of avoidance may include: trying to avoid thinking or talking about the traumatic event, avoiding places, activities or people that remind you of the traumatic even. I use a thoroughly researched and proven method of therapy for PTSD that is called Written Exposure Therapy or WET for short. WET can be completed in as little as 5 sessions but may require more session for some people. If you have any of these symptoms and you want to get better faster, WET is one of the recommend treatment methods. I believe that it is a relationship between two people. It takes courage to seek a more happy and fulfilling life to take the first steps to change. Counseling is about making changes that you want to make. If you are interested in a person that cares about your needs, is respectful and will listen to your needs then I am the counselor that can help you. I look forward to meeting and working with you. I find some people like to chat, some like to do phone calls and some people like to do video sessions. In order to better understand your needs, could you please let me know how you would like to proceed. If you would like to schedule a session, please check my calendar and pick an available time slot that works for you, if nothing is available that works for you, let me know as I am flexible will do my best to meet your needs. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to meeting you soon. Some people like to start off with just chatting others feel more comfortable using the phone or video sessions. I just wanted to let you know, that I will never judge you and that I am here for your needs only, please let me know how I can assist you. When you do decide to take the next step, the following are instructions to help you have a better session. Here is some useful information. When you come online for your video or phone session and or chat, I will see you and initiate the call all you have to do is to accept it. Better help states that the videos and phone calls work best with Google Chrome, please do a video test before your session to make sure your video and microphone are working correctly. It should be in the help section. If you have any questions just send me a message. This is to ensure a problem free and productive session for you. FYI, chats can either be completed on your page, and I have 24 hours to respond to each message or you can actually schedule a chat session, just like you would a phone or video session. Other important information, one important piece of information about this website, I am required to respond to any of your messages within 24 hours, except for weekends and holiday, but as you can see I am also up early in the morning as that is when I tend to answer my messages. Sometimes if it is early and not busy I even answer messages on weekends and sometime on holidays. I also wanted to let you know that I do schedule some evening sessions, I schedule them Monday through Wednesday. I do not put them on my calendar as I want to save them for people who need them. I currently have open session on Monday through Wednesday at 5:30 and 6:30 EST. Please let me know if you need one of these early evening sessions. Please let me know also what kind of session you would like, either chat, phone of video and I will be happy to schedule it for you. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Steven Michael Fuller
Hi, my name is S. Michael Fuller. Call me Mike, Michael, Mr. Fuller, whichever you feel most comfortable with. I am licensed in Oklahoma as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marital & Family Therapist. I consider myself fortunate to have worked in a wide variety of settings (hospital, youth service agency, university setting as a adjunct professor, health department, public schools and private practice )that have allowed me to help people from many walks of life, ages from very young and just getting started in life to the elderly and moving into the latter stages of life. Diagnostic areas include the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, Family of Origin Issues, Attention and Impulsivity, Grief and Loss issues. These are only a few examples of the many issues I have been able to help people with over the years. Each person I have been fortunate enough to work with has helped me grow and improve as a therapist, just as I hopefully can help you as you work to make changes that will help you grow and develop more fully to the vision you have for yourself. My initial goal in working with you is to develop a relationship in which you feel heard and understood, respected and appreciated. Most of the time this happens rather quickly, allowing trust and rapport to grow to the point where we can begin to understand where you are emotionally, where you want to be and working together to use your strengths to get there. This process, sounding so simple, is the core of the therapeutic relationship that allows you to move from a place that simply is not working to one that is. Congratulations, just by reading this you have taken a difficult beginning step towards a life that suits you better than the one you are in now. While I hope to help you in your journey, who you make the journey with is less important than the fact you make it! I look forward to working with you on this journey!

Wendie Clemens
Hi, my name is Wendie Clemens. I’ll start out with giving you some information on my history and experience, then I’ll move on to explaining my approach to therapy. I have a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family therapy and I’ve been a licensed therapist for 20 years; I’m licensed through the state of Oklahoma as a Licensed Professional Counselor and my license number is 3401. I’ve worked with several different populations, providing outpatient individual, family, and group therapy to adults, children, and adolescents; providing individual and family therapy to children and adolescents in the foster care system and their birth families, as well as providing supportive services to the foster families; and providing individual and group therapy for court-involved persons. I have experience working with clients who sought treatment for problems related to anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, substance use, family conflict, difficult relationships, issues related to changes in life, and other severe and chronic mental health issues. Over the last few years, I’ve also had extensive experience providing services through virtual means such as iPad, computer, phone, etc. so this service platform is comfortable for me. For 15 years of my career as a licensed therapist, I worked in community mental health; the majority of my clients there not only struggled with severe, life-long mental health issues but also struggled with other issues such as isolation, poverty, lack of resources, and the stigma of living with a mental illness. Working in that setting could be extremely demanding but those years played a significant role in my growth as a therapist (and a person) and the experience of serving those clients, as well as having the honor of sharing their lives, was overall richly rewarding for me. In my view, the relationship that develops between a therapist and client is part of the healing process and I do my best to develop and maintain a positive, healthy relationship with clients. You’re the one looking for help, so I look to you to determine what we discuss in therapy sessions, what you’d like to accomplish in therapy, and how you’ll know you’ve finished therapy. My part is to help you sort things out so you can see problems more clearly, understand yourself better, and feel more comfortable in making decisions about your life. I’m also here to help you find and learn different tools you can use to accomplish that. With that being said, I also recognize there will be times I may need to give you a little push to discuss something you’ve been avoiding, to express thoughts or feelings that may be difficult for you, or even to revisit your past in order to work through issues that may still be affecting you. All of that requires trust and a willingness to be vulnerable on your part, which is why I tend to emphasize the importance of the therapeutic relationship. Even though I value our relationship, I’m also human and I realize that I may misinterpret something you say, misunderstand what you’re trying to communicate, or unintentionally offend you or hurt your feelings. I don’t plan on this happening, but if it does, please let me know!! (No need to worry about being too blunt or hurting my feelings – I need to know these things so your therapy is helpful and it will help me grow and be a better therapist.) Most things we’ll be able to work through and that will help me understand you better – it can also help you as misunderstandings and unintentional slights happen in all relationships and you can use bumps in our relationship as practice in working things out in the “real world.” Regarding the technical side of things, I use tools and techniques primarily from Cognitive-Behavioral based therapies, Person-Centered Therapy, and I incorporate mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation tools from Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I’ll also throw this out – if at any point in our work together you find that we’re just not relating, you’ve gone as far as you can with me, or I’m just not the right therapist for you, don’t hesitate to discuss this with me as it will be no problem for you to be matched with another therapist that may be a better fit for you. This is just a general introduction so you have some feel for who I am and how I approach therapy; there is more specific information about meetings, confidentiality, etc. contained in the Informed Consent in the member information from already provided by the platform.

Is mental health care and therapy with a therapist worth it?
Therapy with a licensed counselor is effective and has the power to change individuals' lives. Each client is at a different stage of their emotional healing journey in life, as each human can be unique in their personality, expression, skills, and goals. An experienced clinician can target various symptoms, experiences, and personalities to help you feel your best and put you on the path to healing. Over 41 million adults in the US attend therapy services each year, showing it's a popular option and is proven to be effective.

If you opt into online therapy, you might also be able to meet with providers all over the United States and change easily at any time. Many people struggling with anxiety and depression, substance abuse, body image issues, and more find therapists that are a good fit for them, feel supported, and gain further insight into their lives through internet-based therapy.
Do therapists judge you in therapy sessions during telehealth appointments?
The boundaries between you and a therapist are in place to help you and them regarding ethical concerns. Mental health professionals are held by ethical standards through the American Psychological Association (APA) and are not allowed to judge or harm their clients. If you are concerned about sharing details about yourself, feel free to withhold personal information. Their job in the therapeutic relationship is to create a safe place, help you gain a deeper understanding of your mental health, and support you. You might consider changing counselors if you don't feel safe or respected.
