“You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” -A.A. Mine Thanks for clicking on my page! Often in the hectic pace of everyday life we may not feel there is time to address things we are currently facing. Counseling is an excellent way to designate a time, with the assistance of an unbiased professional, to assist you in reaching your goals. The goal of therapy is to feel good, not only about yourself, but the life you are living. Life can get complicated, so having someone in your corner can be helpful. Therapy also allows one to view things through a different lens. This new perspective can get us to make changes, or view things differently, which can be key to making long-term changes or impact. I view counseling is a collaborative, dynamic process, based on the therapeutic alliance between therapist and client. Through careful assessment of client concerns, I tailor the therapeutic approach to the specific needs of each individual. My approach to counseling is both direct yet warm and non judgmental with every client. I am gentle in my approach to make sure the client feels heard and validated. I employ a variety of diverse therapeutic approaches. These techniques include Person-Centered, CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, DBT, MI. My personal philosophy is based on the idea that counseling is most effective with genuine, honest, and open communication. I believe we are all worthy of respect and that is important in the counseling relationship. I hope to dive deeper into what is going on in your life, and get you back on track. Hopefully you will leave each session feeling better and with some new tools and workable takeaways. I am excited to be with Betterhelp to begin working with those in need of healing. When I am not in session, I like to fill free time with family & friends. I love exploring the outdoors, staying active (with spin, weightlifting & yoga) and traveling. I have a passion for volunteering with at risk populations in my city and am an avid animal rescuer/advocate. You have made a big first step in your journey, I look forward to hearing from you! Feel free to contact me below to set up your first session, take care!

Hello all! I was born and raised in a small town in Wyoming where I developed a love for horses and the outdoors. I then moved to Laramie, Wyoming where I graduated in 2013 with my Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders. I enjoyed working with people who had speech disorders, but felt as though I wanted to focus more on the underlying issues that were influencing peoples’ lives. I then decided to go back to school to get a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling. I graduated in 2016 and moved to another very small town with my husband, dog, and 2 horses. Right after I graduated I began work in a community mental health practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I really enjoyed working with people of all ages and helping them through challenging times in their lives. I became a mom in 2017, which greatly changed my priorities and life trajectory. After I became a mom I decided to make a slight career change into becoming a school counselor, because I found my work with school age clients to be exciting and fulfilling. However, I still continue to see clients in my mental health private practice on a part time basis. I also am pursuing certification in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. I strongly believe that a healthy therapeutic relationship that fosters unconditional positive regard, empathy, and authenticity is the vehicle of change for clients. Creating a therapeutic relationship that is based on those three principles helps clients to explore their experiences, modify their perceptions of themselves and the world, and increase their confidence in making choices and pursuing a course of action. I also believe that people have the innate ability and wisdom to get through any problem they are facing. My strengths include being able to connect with people easily while making them feel heard and understood. In my free time I enjoy riding horses, spending time in the mountains, and being with my family and animals. I am excited to connect with people on the BetterHelp platform!

I have been working in the mental health field for 6 years. I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. I chose a career in mental health to assist others in maintaining a mentally healthy lifestyle. I have worked with children and adults who have symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, behavior disorders, depression, parenting problems, social issues, and more. I also work with military service members and their families when experiencing challenging times. My counseling style is warm and engaging. My treatment approach is that of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). However, every client is different; therefore, each treatment plan is tailored to accommodate the individual client's needs. I believe that it is important for individuals to understand the root of their issues and understand methods to recognize triggers, provide coping strategies, and allow them to see how their perspectives shape their view of the world. When changing their view, they positively change their behaviors. Whether you seek change for a healthier, happier life or need a non-judgmental party, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

30 years of experience offering psychology treatment

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wyoming with over 30 years of experience. My family members say that I was born a therapist. Selecting a therapist can be a life altering choice. I happen to know that from a first-hand perspective. We can all benefit from good therapy during difficult life times. Are you feeling emotionally exhausted? If you are feeling isolated, overwhelmed, unappreciated, unloved, stuck, or just not currently satisfied with your life in general, it is probably a good time to enlist a therapist as your partner to resolve these issues. When I was in graduate school, absolute strangers would walk up to me in the laundromat and start sharing their life stories or ask for my advice. I graduated from Indiana University while a single parent, raising 3 young sons. Now as a parent of 3 adult sons, step parent of 2 adult daughters and grandparent of 6 wonderful children; my husband of 25 years and I continue to enjoy the wonders of a blended family - - as he would say, “we’ve seen it all”. My therapeutic style is friendly, nurturing and empowering. I have successfully worked with: Individuals, Families, Relationship Issues, Parenting, Senior Life Issues, Depression/Despair, Anxiety, Emotional Abuse, Adjustment & Life Transitions, Divorce & Blended Families, Addictions, ACOA/ co-dependency, Adolescents. I would best describe myself as a catalyst for change and growth. Long career. . . long list. I have been trained and worked with multiple modalities: Adlerian, Cognitive Behavioral, Humanistic, Existential, Psychodynamic, Rational Emotive and Brief Solution Based Therapy. This is not a “one size fits all” – together, you and I will determine which will work best for you. Think of us as a partnership to discover the real you and to remove obstacles that may be holding you back. Whatever your age – senior, adult, or adolescent I would enjoy working with you, if you are ready. The “ah-ha” therapeutic moment for me came when a former student shared the “fortune” inside his fortune cookie from dinner the night before, saying “this was obviously meant for you, not me”. The fortune cookie message, which has had permanent residence taped to the top of my computer monitor for over a decade, sums up my personal model for therapy: “You discover treasure where others find nothing unusual.” Now that I am officially designated as grown-up and no longer challenged with raising my own family, I know that my authentic “happy place” is in one-to-one counseling where I can get to know the treasure that you are. If you are ready to take that step with me, I am here to support and empower you and look forward to our combined future. I work with my online clients in the evenings and on weekends. I do check email daily (often several times) and will respond to you within 24 hrs. - - sooner if possible.

How do I know if online counseling is right for my family in Mills?

One of the potentially rewarding aspects of working with a therapist is the validation and active listening they can provide. Your friends and loved ones may also be available to listen, but you may feel that they may lack the skills to provide objective guidance. Counselors are trained to respond to various concerns, symptoms, and mental health conditions.

Therapists in your city can support you toward a healthier emotional state, regardless of your mental health, life concerns, or healing needs. While supporting individuals in developing healthier habits, another good benefit of Mills therapy is having an understanding, safe space with a non-judgmental party who can support you through challenging experiences.

Many people have sensitive topics that they may feel ashamed to discuss with their friends or partner. A therapist can help you confront these concerns and open up through unique methods of support. There are also many types of therapy, such as art therapy, where you may find you can express yourself through creativity instead of words with a psychotherapist.

With a lot of people in WY, therapists may be booked out with clients. Through the list of profiles above and others within BetterHelp's team, you may be able to find a psychologist within 24 to 48 hours. If you're searching to find a a nearby psychotherapist close to 82604 or the surrounding zip codes, consider others available through the BetterHelp site where you can schedule a session based on your and the therapist's schedule. No matter if you are seeking help from therapists around or in your area or beyond, online therapy can be a great option.

Should I find a therapist or psychologist for therapy if I feel fine?

Some simply don't feel the need to see a psychologist. However, some people may avoid attending therapy due to stigma or preconceived notions of what it might entail. Although psychologists often support people with mental health conditions, you do not need a diagnosis or specific condition. You can discuss grief, relationship concerns, stress, or life changes and ask for general feedback. A Mills licensed clinical social worker may help you gain power over your life and emotions while you navigate day-to-day experiences.

Gaining a new perspective on yourself through various therapies might allow you to improve your self-esteem, work through relationships, and gain a better sense of your mental health goals. The success you may find with a Mills counselor can be dependent on your process.

People may also attend therapy for specific motives, such as bullying, an autism diagnosis, a desire to learn mindfulness meditation, personality concerns, trouble with office workers, specific phobias, and many other principles that a counselor can help with.

Is mental health care and therapy with a therapist worth it?

Therapy with a licensed counselor is effective and has the power to change individuals' lives. Each client is at a different stage of their emotional healing journey in life, as each human can be unique in their personality, expression, skills, and goals. An experienced clinician can target various symptoms, experiences, and personalities to help you feel your best and put you on the path to healing. Unlike advice from a friend, family, or non-professional, a mental health therapist has an understanding of various disorders like ADHD and depression with many hours of experience in treating adults in their practice. For this reason, seeing an evidence based licensed clinician in Mills, Wyoming can be worth it. Over 41 million adults in the US attend therapy services each year, showing it's a popular option and is proven to be effective.

Mills has many clinicians who practice person or client-centered individual therapy in-person and through online sessions to assist clients in their healing journey. If you opt into online therapy, you might also be able to meet with providers all over the United States and change easily at any time. Many people struggling with anxiety and depression, substance abuse, body image issues, and more find therapists that are a good fit for them, feel supported, and gain further insight into their lives through internet-based therapy.

Do therapists judge you in therapy sessions during telehealth appointments?

The boundaries between you and a therapist are in place to help you and them regarding ethical concerns. Mental health professionals are held by ethical standards through the American Psychological Association (APA) and are not allowed to judge or harm their clients. If you are concerned about sharing details about yourself, feel free to withhold personal information. Their job in the therapeutic relationship is to create a safe place, help you gain a deeper understanding of your mental health, and support you.
