Cynthia Eades
I have worked with people suffering from a wide range of issues including mood disorders, trauma, addictions, and life transitions for 17 years. Most recently I have been working toward board certification in Christian Sex Therapy, and am currently only able to accept new clients who are struggling in this area of their lives. I have a passion to work with people who are wrestling with deep hurts and brokenness, and need hope in their lives. My philosophy of counseling is that in order to help others, I must first be emotionally and spiritually healthy, which means that I get regular check-ups from my counselor also. After graduating from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, MO, I relocated to Alabama where I began several years of work at a non-profit inpatient substance abuse clinic, and then, transitioned to private practice. My experience enables me to center in on the core of my clients' struggles without overlooking their pace. What this means for you is that I am fully focused on who you are first. My approach treats both the heart and mind, while communicating deep honor and respect to my clients. I will utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as psycho-education, Narrative, and Gestalt techniques to help you find the roots of your problems and learn new ways to cope. I believe that there is tremendous strength when a person is able to tell their story in a way that is both honest and life-giving, and I am committed to guiding people toward these truths and the freedoms that follow. Our counseling relationship will be two people working in one direction: your goals.

I am a sunny optimist and enthusiastic morning person. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, even when the light seems far, far away. I can work with you so you can see it too. Counseling can be daunting. Especially if we have been holding on to something for a while. Reaching out for support takes courage. I am truly glad you are here. Sometimes we want to know that the person we are talking to gets us, gets where we are coming from when it's just one of those things that can be hard to explain. I get military life, aviation, and life changing injuries. My BetterHelp availability is Thursday through Saturday, I reply to messages at least once per day on these days. I schedule live video, text based chat, and phone calls Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Do you ever find yourself feeling overwhelmed or boggled down with everyday stressors and struggles? We have all been there before. I believe that everyone needs a supportive, objective person to talk to when they are struggling and deciding which move to make next. I can be that supportive person for you. I have experience in substance abuse, child/adolescent counseling, anxiety/depression, coping skills, etc... My main goal as a counselor is to make a difference in the lives of others, and hopefully provide you with helpful tools for whatever journey you may be on in your life. I have been in the counseling field since 2005. My roles in life are probably not much different from your own; I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, coach, and friend. Please allow me to utilize my professional and personal experience to help you with your current struggles.
