I received my bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. I then went on to receive my Masters degree from Argosy University in Phoenix, Arizona. My counseling approach is mindfulness training, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused brief therapy. I have been a Licensed practicing therapist for 7 years. My approach is to treat the whole person. I am also a Holistic Nutritionist, Hypnotherapist and Life Coach. I believe the most successful treatment can be attributed to two important factors. The first is understanding how the mind, body and spirit connects; as the mind and body are not separate and to treat the mind the body must also be treated and vice versa. One of my core beliefs is that "there is nothing wrong with you." It's been my experience that feeling better is often a matter of practicing new skills and habits, such as self-compassion; gratitude; setting healthy boundaries; connecting with others; or learning appropriate ways to soothe yourself when distressed. Of course, there are also times when more services, such as medication or substance abuse treatment, are appropriate and we can discuss that together.
