Christina Kohfield
Hello! Thank you for reading my profile. I am a marriage and family therapist (LMFT) licensed in California with over 20 years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, issues pertaining to sexuality, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and issues pertaining to spirituality. I also helped many people who have experienced physical and sexual trauma or emotional abuse. My counseling style is warm and down to earth. My goal is to create an environment where you feel at ease talking about what is in your heart and on your mind. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and psycho-dynamic counseling. Potential clients should know that I am Christian and have gone through a conversion experience. I am trained in Christian Counseling amd have come to believe that faith in God can bring about profound transformation. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is about teaming up to give you the insight, inner wisdom and motivation to make the changes you want in your life. We will come up with a plan to work on improving your current situation. Some people simply need a compassionate person to hear them out. Some people may want a concrete action plan with steps and advise on how to proceed. Our work is to collaborate and come up with a plan that would be most effective in meeting your needs. On a practical matter, my office hours vary, however I generally have sessions every day of the week, morning and evening. Please look at my schedule to see if there is a time that works for you. I will respond to messages within 24 hours. If you would like a video chat session during a time that is not listed, please send me a message and we may be able to work out scheduling a time that works for both of our schedules. "...but with God all things are possible." Mathew 19:26 "Out of clutter, find simplicity. Out of discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty, lies opportunity." Albert Einstein "The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts: therefore, guard accordingly, and take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable to virtue and reasonable nature." Marcus Aurelius I look forward to working with you! Respectfully, Christina Kohfield, LMFT 78980

Octavia Fukino
Hello, and welcome to Better Help! My name is Octavia Fukino, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) as well as Licensed Clinical Psychologist(LPCC). I have over 7 years of experience doing counseling, four of them pre- license and four years after licensing. I completed my Bachelor's degree at UCLA in 1990, and my Masters in Counseling Psychology at Argosy University in 2013. I specialize in treating Trauma as well as relationship issues, and also work with substance abuse clients. Before COVID-19, my focus was private practice and doing counseling in person. It is important to me to connect with clients and establish trust and warmth. Due to this pandemic, Telehealth Video has become more normal and I see that the relationship does not necessarily suffer from not being together in and office, and it can be more convenient for clients to not travel as much. My passion for counseling has always existed, but it was on hold when I raised my two adopted children. They are adults now and I am very proud of them. I was married for 25 years to their father, but that marriage ended in divorce due to very painful betrayal. After this I went back to school and focused on building a meaningful career. Given my personal experience, I focus on attachment issues, trauma, relationships, and grief/loss. Therapy and counseling were a key part of my own journey to healing, and I wanted to make sure to help others struggling like I did through pain and codependency. You have reached out and are thinking about getting help. It is wonderful and scary as well. Please know that change is possible. Healing is possible. You are a lot stronger and wiser than you may think. It would be wonderful to work with you and find YOU.

I began Christian counseling in 2002 continuing through 2006. I counseled individuals and couples regarding various relational and adjustment issues. I also counseled individuals regarding self-esteem, and substance abuse. Theoretical approaches most commonly utilized consisted of cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and family systems models. I attended a marriage and family therapy academic program at Western Seminary completing all requirements in 2008. I also obtained an addiction studies certificate from the institution. I worked in residential treatment facilities from 2005-2011. In this capacity crisis were handled though behavioral interventions that included crises intervention counseling and referral to appropriate internal/external resources. Additionally, assessments were conducted to determine if clients in crisis needed a higher level of care. Coordinated all client work parties. Monitored client suicide/homicide ideation in individual and group counseling sessions. During this time I also worked with inmates housed in residential treatment both inside and outside of treatment settings. In these settings the 12 Step model for treatment was utilized. From 2013 through 2017 I worked with the homeless population providing intensive case management. Presently I work with families with autistic children utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA) as the treatment modality. With this wide breath of experience I believe I can continue to be of great assistance to individuals in needed of counseling services.
