I am a licensed clinical social worker who graduated from the University of Denver in 2007. Since graduating I have worked in a variety of settings with a wide range of clients from children to adults. I have helped people with numerous issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and anxiety. I have special training in counseling those who have been through traumatic experiences both in school and in trainings since. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and client centered techniques. More importantly, I believe in therapy being a collaborative process and I will work with you to provide the help that you need. My goal is to make this the most useful space for you as possible. I have always believed that it is the strong who seek to change and I look forward to supporting you through this process!

We all have the potential to create a meaningful life in the face of both joyful and painful circumstances. It is my hope that our time together will allow you to more fully embrace a sense of wonder about the possibilities for your own life as you discover new paths towards wholeness. In supporting individuals as they navigate life’s successes and challenges, I have come to realize the importance of authentic relationships. To this end, I seek to offer a safe and compassionate space in which your story can unfold. It is within this context that I believe you will be able to gain new insights as well as reconnect with aspects of yourself that may have been forgotten or become blocked. I have been practicing different forms of mindfulness over the past eighteen years and always welcome the opportunity to share these practices with others. I have found that integrating mindfulness-based skills with existential, transpersonal, and somatic/body-centered approaches can be very healing and transformative. Since 2002, I have had the opportunity to provide counseling to adolescents in a wilderness therapy program, incarcerated individuals in a drug and alcohol program, homeless Veterans in a transitional housing program, and Veterans and military families in a community mental health setting. I have been seeing individuals in my private practice since 2015. Please be aware that I am licensed in the state of Colorado, so if I’m working with an individual internationally, I may be providing services as a consultant or coach due to my license requirement or requirements of other localities. This may mean that I will be limited in my ability to assess, diagnose, and treat specific disorders. Outside my practice, I enjoy running, biking, writing, and meditation. I also love traveling and just returned from living as an expat in Berlin, Germany for the past 1.5 years. EDUCATION AND TRAINING 2016 Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Training (50 hours) 2014 Licensed Professional Counselor - LPC (LPC.00012067) 2013 Licensed Addiction Counselor - LAC (ACD.0000389) 2012 Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, Regis University, Denver, CO 2008 Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO

9 years defines my experience providing dual diagnosis mental health related counseling services to adolescents, adults and elders in a variety of inpatient/outpatient services in the criminal justice system in conjunction with integrated clinical health systems services. This experience gave me a new direction and way of life consisting of personal growth and change I would like to share with you. Our goal is to share my experiences with those who seek to enhance their level of personal growth and change. Serving adolescents, adults, elders, couples, families and groups with my training in an eclectic variety of treatment modalities, the actual counseling approach with a given client is determined by your preference and personal goals. With the hope that your goals will center around the self discovery of personal strengths and yielding an increase in self esteem you will realize that your integrity is the most valuable asset about yourself. Upon this discovery you will be able to share with others as you become an extension of the counseling process. My theory is when people have hope and learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs and attitudes they create the biology of courage. By normalizing stress people are free to experience change. In Relationship focused therapy the counselor will identify strengths by asking family members to take note of the family dynamics they want to maintain The counselor will look for exceptions to the problem by asking couples to recount times when the problem did not occur and to account for why, to formulate a solution and highlight strengths. Couples will review worksheets and experience discoveries by working together to identify strengths and cultural differences. In my experience within the past 9 years couples will experience cohesion within the family unit in which they will find new meaning and purpose. Couples will set goals that identifies a renewed value driven direction as they discover what they want to work towards and what is really important to them. At Franciccan University I was made aware and adapted my Christian basesd counseling approach to center around the Eleven Human Emotions that describe the pleasure, appetite or human emotions. The goal to acquire the good through Love Desire and Joy and to avoid the evil of Hate Aversion and Sadness. These emotions make up the heart or inner core of mans emotional life. For difficult issues it is wise to recognize the Utilitatian or assertive emotions of Hope Courage and Anger versus Despair, Sadness and Fear. These Emotions give us the energy necessary to overcome obstacles that separate us from the things that are hard to get and what we really want. Clients are encouraged to engage in each component of the Eleven Human Emotions that will give them clarity and a renewed realtionship with the Holy Spirit thus gaining compassion for themselves and others. What do you have to lose and you have everything to gain by trying!
