Hello, thanks for taking the time to learn more about who I am and how I work. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado, and I've been practicing for over 5 years. I have experience in stress and anxiety, grief and loss, and life transitions. To me, therapy is a very exciting and rewarding experience, whether providing it or receiving it. I've been on both sides, so I have a great deal of respect for where you are and the courage it takes to reach out for support. What I've found is that we all have what it takes within us to create a beautiful life. Sometimes we just need someone to listen, to identify where we might be telling ourselves a story that limits our happiness, and help us change that story to one that empowers us. When difficult things happen, such as a loss or a sudden change we didn't see coming, often we cope by shutting down or finding a way to control things. Identifying that you may be coping in ways that don't serve you is the first step. Knowing you want to change is the next step. Asking for help is where you are now. I will work with you to accept where you are now, find the strengths and skills you already have, and use them to climb out of your current state of unhappiness, guilt, shame, or numbness, and toward more flexibility, joy, love, and gratitude. I use various techniques and modalities to achieve this with you, and constantly remain responsive and centered on your needs and preferences for therapy. Some of the techniques I use are based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, along with Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. I strongly believe in the importance of developing a foundation of self-compassion, and this is at the heart of my practice. I have used these techniques in my personal development and they are life-changing. I would be honored to work with you and be part of your transformation.

I am here to support you with the challenges that you are experiencing at this time. I will guide you through the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and other creative approaches that I gained in my Counseling and Art Therapy graduate program at University of Illinois at Chicago. For over 15 years I have worked with families and adults individually and in groups in a variety of settings; including day treatment and residential treatment programs, a children's hospital, corrections, community mental health, schools and home-based treatment. I provide trauma-informed care and address issues surrounding anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationships, parenting, life transitions, domestic abuse and healthy coping skills. I am client-centered and strengths-based and aim to guide my clients to empower themselves to reach their full potential in their own lives.

I am a licensed in counselor Colorado with over 20 years of experience working with adolescents, families and individual women . I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, behavioral concerns, learning disabilities and ADHD. I have also helped many people work through physical trauma, emotional abuse and the difficult journey through grief. I enjoy getting to know people and learning what life has been like through their eyes. I do not view life struggles as defeats or places of shame, I see these difficult circumstances as times where God is showing us our deep need for Him and His deep love for us. My therapy approach is cognitive behavioral and person centered. Many people are helped by having the opportunity think about their family history and life experiences and how these combine to impact the present struggle. Over the years I have learned that people receive the most help in counseling when their therapist gives attention to the whole person by exploring the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual side of their struggles. Life is so complex and our problems likewise become very complex and overwhelming. Often times change can come through making the complex more simple. My strength as a therapist is in my ability to encourage, support, and shower people with mercy as they tackle their therapy goals. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Reaching out for help is a big step towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to help you meet your therapy goals. I look forward to working with you!
