Dr. Vicki Carter
My name is Dr. Vicki Carter. I earned my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Capella University, 2008. I specialize in trauma and mood disorders. My theoretical approaches are Rogerian and Psycho-analytic. Yet I do integrate, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral within my practice. I teach online for Post University and Ottawa. Both experiences provide insight to career counseling . I have conducted therapy for individuals, and adolescents. I am of Christian faith and will integrate ABIDE as apart of healing from a Christian perspective. All religions are accepted here ! I have over 17 years of counseling experiences, most of which from an integrative approach. Integrative care speaks of treating the whole instead of individual aspects. Therefore, this value speaks to exploring the physical and mental health of clients. Overall, I have expertise in trauma, mood disorders, grief, career counseling, relationship matters and geriatrics to name a few. I do not see couples- although I can counsel on relationship matters. Clients will be addressed with utmost respect. I do encourage clients to use the forum to share updates or matters that come up during the day or between sessions. Please be advised that any messages sent after 10 pm EST, will be reviewed and responded to the next day. Take care! Best Dr. Carter
