Jessica Kurczewski
Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I currently work as a Clinical Supervisor but I spent the past 8 years as an outpatient therapist in family homes, schools, and private offices. I have worked with clients in the past that were working through past traumas, ADHD, depression, anxiety, family and spousal conflict, relationship concerns, attachment troubles, and everyday life struggles. I have worked with people of all ages from 6 years old to 65. My counseling style is very open, and empathetic. I am very friendly, warm, and optimistic. I'm a big supporter of inspirational quotes, and a metaphor or two, as well as love to bring humor into sessions when needed and sharing a heartwarming tiktok or two! With that, I am also a realist, so I like to be as objectively direct and honest as possible with my clients during treatment, even when it is challenging or uncomfortable. My goal is always to build a relationship with my clients first to the point that they trust me and our therapeutic relationship to do so. I am very trauma-informed and base my counseling practice on trauma models. I incorporate interventions from PolyVagal Theory, Attachment Theory, DBT, and Somatic Work. I am also Level 1 Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy certified and have 3 years of training for Eco-systemic Structural Family Therapy under my belt as well. Therapy is hard-work but the benefits and outcomes are oh so amazing and worth it! Seeking treatment and the right therapist for you is the first step to healing, and tailoring your life the way you want it to go. I look forward to working with you on your journey!

I am a Licensed Marriage and family therapist family and marriage counselor licensed in New Jersey and Delaware with 6 years working in outpatient mental health. I have also worked in residential treatment facilities for at risk youth and I have been a mental health therapist providing counseling for foster care children. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief, attachment issues, couples counseling which includes divorce mediation, adultery, or phase of life issues. I also work with those struggling with relationship issues. parenting problems, career challenges, and oppositional disorders. I have worked with veterans and military families during an internship in Hawaii. As a military spouse from a retired Army soldier, I have a first hand understanding of the struggles and anxiety, stress, and emotional struggles that present in the military culture. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. My counseling style is warm and inviting. I am down to earth, I ask questions for a deeper understanding and most importantly I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I like for my clients to also know I am human and despite my education or training, life presents stress and challenges for everyone. My approach to therapy is I follow the client and during the assessment, together we will discuss what treatment modality may be best. i do this because therapy models aren't always a one size fits all. With that said, its very important to asses and observe because a persons needs takes of different forms depending on circumstance and situation. I will do what is clinically necessary to get the help you need, even if its not with me. I am glad to see that you are ready to take control over your emotional and mental health. Its takes a lot of motivation and courage to work on yourself and more so not be afraid to seek help if needed. I look forward to working with you on your journey to becoming a healthier, happier and confident version of you! I look forward to working with you!

Njideka Wiggins
Greetings and thank you for viewing my profile. I'm Njideka (In-jah-day-ka) Wiggins, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) located in Wilmington, Delaware Counseling is my second career, after 26 successful years in corporate America. I have been a practicing therapist, working with children, individuals and families for the past 16 years. I am a client centered therapist, meaning I believe each client comes to this process with an unique experience and way of being in the world. As such, I have a holistic approach to counseling, pulling from many theories and modalities, but predominately focused on integrating the best of psychodynamic theory (helping my client see and understand their patterns of emotions, thoughts and behaviors) with cognitive behavioral theory (solution-focused methods) and systems theory (how one exists in the larger world) to create lasting, characterlogical change. I enjoy working with clients that are seeking support to heal from unresolved trauma; mend family and other relational conflicts; manage depression, anxiety and ADHD challenges; navigate life/career cycle issues; overcome caregiver/compassion fatigue and grief. I recognize and respect the courage it takes to embark upon a journey to emotional wellness and I am humbled and honored to bear witness to your walk. Thank you again, for allowing me the opportunity of your consideration . Should you have any questions about my therapeutic process or how we would work together to achieve your goals, please feel free to ask.

Lucian M McMillan-Cardona
Greetings! My name is Lucian, and I am a passionate, caring, and effective licensed therapist in Delaware. I am eager to help you reach your full potential. I bring a broad array of life experience and expertise, into the therapeutic relationship. Through empathy and understanding, you will gain a unique perspective into your world. I have 7 years of professional experience and worked in a variety of settings with different populations. As a therapist, I am here to intervene. I am not here simply to listen, or allow you to have a cathartic experience. I implement the Strength Base Approach, Cognitive Behavioral approach, and Mindfulness approach. These approaches are goal-oriented, directive, and problem-solving in nature. It takes a skillful therapist to help clients make the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I strive for the opportunity to build and maintain a solid therapeutic alliance with my clients. I approach therapy as a healing process, helping to answer deep-rooted unanswered questions we have about ourselves. You are the expert of your narrative, and I am your creative outlet ready to listen and help you find solutions because we find strength in sharing our experiences. I value honesty, the importance of a working relationship, and your integrity, dignity, and worth. So, let’s do this!

Edward Schultze
I am a licensed counselor in Maryland and Delaware. I have had extensive experience with abuse and trauma, and a range of personal problems and mental illnesses. Following 35 years in a special education school, working primarily with adolescents and their families, I transitioned to private practice close to ten years ago. Since then, I have worked primarily one on one with adults of all ages. Those I currently work with would likely describe me as easy-going, supportive, informal, practical and nonjudgmental. I have considerable respect for anyone who decides to pause at some point in their life and address issues and concerns that might affect quality of life. This takes courage, openness and hopefulness. I can draw on many different approaches however, key to the process, in my opinion, is a partnership and therapeutic relationship. I tend to be psychodynamically-oriented, however I value immediate needs and therefore changing behavior in the here and now may often be the priority. Relatedly, changing thinking patterns and thoughts in the here and now can also be a priority. Hopefully, you can (or will ????), believe that you can change behaviors and thoughts. Given the current pandemic, I have learned to provide therapeutic services remotely. I am surprised at how effective and practical this can be. This is essentially, the basis for my joining Better Help. Please feel free to ask me 100 questions.

I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I utilize mindfulness and cognitive behavioral-based interventions and incorporate hypnotherapy interventions when appropriate . I believe in a holistic approach to creating change and making improvement in our lives. Please be aware that I only use messaging as an adjunct in between sessions to communicate. I cannot provide therapy using primarily messaging. Making the decision to begin therapy and reach out to ask for help can be daunting. Congratulations for taking that step! I look forward to accompanying you on your journey to improved wellness.
