April Kouri
I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I have been working with individuals, families, teens and children in a variety of mental health settings over the last 13 years. I have always known I wanted to go into the mental health field, mainly because I love helping others in any capacity that I can. I started my career working at an residential mental health facility that handled a spectrum of different problems. As a hands on mental health technician, I worked one on one with critical patients, and later as a life management counselor, I led small groups on depression, stress management, familial stress, career development and addiction. After that, I worked in an inpatient and outpatient facility, for adults, children and teens with eating disorders, anxiety, depression and multiple forms of addiction. I have a particular interest in process addictions, including but not limited to: gaming, internet addiction, and pornography addiction and the toll they can take on the family unit as a whole. I have worked with all different types of clients, from those with grief and marital discord, to others coping with PTSD or trauma. I have worked in a school setting, collaborating with families of specials needs children, with disabilities such as Autism and chronic health issues. Additionally, I specialize in working with children and adults with chronic illnesses that may make it impossible for them to seek counseling elsewhere. I have worked for BetterHelp since 2017 as a therapist providing online services. I have a Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, and Master of Arts (M.A.) in Mental Health Counseling also from the University of Central Florida. I am a Certified School Counselor in the State of Florida, and hold credentials that allow me to work in an educational setting as well as mental health setting. I work from a cognitive behavioral standpoint, but also use Solution Focused therapy whenever possible, to help you achieve your goals as quickly as possible. Helping you feel better is my main goal in treatment. I utilize compassion and understanding to help my clients feel comfortable, and appreciate that personal growth can happen in many different ways. I look forward to working with you on your journey.

Dr. Daniella Jackson
I have been a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida for the past 11 years, and I currently hold a Ph.D. in Psychology. I have worked with adolescents, their families, and adults with addiction and dual disorders for the past 23 years. Nineteen out these 23 years of experience, I have worked directly with adults with addiction, anger management, and self-management problems. Helping individuals and couples who are struggling with addiction problems (i.e., alcohol, illicit substances, medication abuse, gambling, technology) has been the center of my work. I have also worked with the family members of individuals who were dealing with different addictions. I understand that the impact of a loved one's addiction problems can be very overwhelming, and at times, too much to handle. For this reason, helping the family members of individuals with addiction problems has also been one of my greatest passions. The impact that stems from various types of addiction includes, but are not limited to grief and loss, feelings of powerless, depression, anxiety, and much more. My approach includes cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, Rogerian, and positive psychology techniques. If you are ready to regain control over your life, whether you are directly suffering from addiction problems or you have been impacted by someone else's addiction, I would like to assist you in instilling hope back into your life. On a more personal note, I am originally from Brazil; however, I have been in the US for the past 30 years. I am currently a proud American citizen. I enjoy meditation and walking, and I absolutely love animals. Additionally, helping others has been among my greatest passions. So, I really look forward to working with you.

Ronnie Mitchell
Hi, and welcome to BetterHelp. My name is Ronnie Mitchell, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist with 27 years of experience and an extensive work history on a psychiatric unit at an outstanding medical hospital. I’ve applied my expertise from the years of experience at the hospital to my private practice, meeting each of my clients’ unique emotional issues with empathy and support as we work to win the battle and fight to the finish line together. There’s nothing I haven’t seen before. I begin by explaining how happiness is an inside job and you can’t depend upon anyone else to regulate your emotions but you. I then provide the tools you need to get off the emotional roller coaster ride you’ve been on and I remind you that the one person in this world who is most important for you to please is you. I become your guide and you begin the exploration of your final frontier, to find the true treasure you’ve always been longing for: inner peace, and your true self. My treatment approach is eclectic - a collaborative effort with my clients who actively engage with me, into the looking glass of their minds, to see issues in a new light in order to resolve them. I utilize psychoanalytic and family systems approaches. We connect the past and the present to change the future. We improve insight, self-esteem, and coping skills. Life starts to be more fulfilling. The grass looks greener and the sky looks bluer when you have hope for the future. Therapy is about change, strength, and courage. You already have all of these, so I’m looking forward to helping you succeed.

Dr. Jane Cormier
Hello! I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PhD) in the state of Florida. I obtained six years of clinical experience during my training years which included work in a variety of settings including inpatient settings and outpatient treatment in community and university clinics providing individual therapy during the entirety of those years. I then had the honor of completing a year of internship at a VA which included providing individual and group therapy to our veterans and their families. Following graduation, I worked in a state hospital setting and maintained a private practice providing individual therapy for three years. At the same time, I began assessing disability claims for the citizens of Florida impacted by mental health issues, and have done so for the past 28 years. Although I love providing face-to-face therapy, I am excited to be providing online therapy as it increases accessibility to services and retains the important aspects of therapy that result in profound and positive change. My skills include treatment of depression and anxiety and addressing adjustment issues, healthy aging, self-care, work concerns, behavioral health, sexuality and relationships. My approach is generally from a cognitive behavioral perspective where we will identify the issues and their impact, clarify goals and map a plan. Other perspectives I draw from include psychodynamic (looking at one's personal history as it relates to current issues), interpersonal (noticing what happens within the therapeutic relationship that applies to outside relationships) and humanistic (acknowledging one's inherent goodness and own resources to facilitate change). I would be most honored to assist you on your journey!
