My name is Chris Jainandan, and I have been part of the mental health and substance abuse field for about eight years now. My goal and passion is to encourage people to be open about the issues that bother them, and to explore options that would enable them to get to a better place. For the longest time, getting help for mental health and substance abuse disorders has been stigmatized, and one of my goals is to lessen this stigma to the point of it being hopefully non-existent. I look forward to getting to know you and working with you if you choose me as your counselor, and I hope that the entire therapeutic experience will be a positive one for you! A little about me: I was born in the South American nation of Guyana, and relocated to the United States when is was in my early teens. I attended Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, where I obtained by Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I then pursued my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University. I have been working in the mental health field in a variety of areas for quite some time before I became a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. Some of my areas of expertise include dealing with anxiety and depression, mood disorders, family and relationship issues, as well as trauma related issues. I am also a nationally certified counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).

I’m a dual-licensed clinician (LPC and LMHC) with 15 years of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. After earning my master’s degree from the University of Central Florida in 2011, I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide range of clinical settings with clients spanning from preschool-aged children to older adults in retirement. My background includes providing diagnostic evaluations, assessments, and therapeutic support for a broad spectrum of mental health concerns—from depression and anxiety to schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a Clinical Scientist, which allows me to stay informed on the latest developments in psychiatric assessment tools and evidence-based treatments. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, trauma (including PTSD), and relationship issues. I believe a strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation for meaningful growth, and I work collaboratively with my clients to foster lasting change. I’ve been offering telehealth services for over five years and am committed to making the virtual therapy experience supportive, accessible, and effective. My counseling style is compassionate, client-centered, and empowering. I use an eclectic therapeutic approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Gestalt, Existential, and Psychodynamic techniques. I tailor treatment to meet each client where they are and to help set achievable, personalized goals. It’s been an honor to support hundreds of courageous individuals on their mental health journeys. I believe deeply in the collaborative process we’ll create together—and the meaningful insights and progress it can bring. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

Hello! I’m looking forward to helping you work through any life stressors by equipping you with the necessary tools to live your best life. I have a masters degree in art therapy and I am currently a registered art therapist and a licensed mental health counselor in Florida. I have 11 years of experience working with clients affected by trauma and abuse, ADHD, anxiety, autism, self-esteem issues, abandonment, and interpersonal relationships. My motto is that even a broken crayon can still work- in other words even if we are broken from life situations we still have the potential for greatness and success. I love being able to apply my art as therapy skills to provide my clients for an additional outlet on top of traditional talk therapy to express themselves in less vulnerable ways. Finally, I believe therapy should include some grit and grace- there are going to be days when you’ll have to grit your teeth as you work through hard issues but if you give yourself grace during that time and allow yourself to be forgiving towards yourself and others, you will flourish.
