Many of us can end up feeling overwhelmed by the stress of daily life at one point or another. While many of us know that therapy can help with mood disorders, intrusive thoughts, or behavioral concerns, therapy can be beneficial for so much more. A therapist can offer support and tools for stress management, improving communication, and even increasing self-awareness.

When it comes to finding a therapist, Fort Myers, FL may offer more variety than surrounding rural areas, but finding the right therapist can be more complicated than scheduling a free consultation with the nearest clinic. One reason for this is that within the field of psychotherapy, there are a number of evidence-based specialized techniques and approaches, and the one that will be most effective can depend on the challenges being addressed as well as personal preference. Working with a CBT practitioner on self-care may promote a peaceful mind. Counseling for a family member in crisis may be more effectively addressed by a family systems expert. Solution focused therapy can be just what a local restaurant owner needs to take their business to the next level. What you want or need may not necessarily be accessible or available where you live. This is where online therapy can help.

BetterHelp is an online platform that offers access to a wide variety of Fort Myers and Cape Coral-based professionals with expertise in many types of therapy, and experience working with diverse populations. Fill out an online questionnaire and BetterHelp will match you with the therapist that best meets your needs. And because a strong therapeutic alliance can be essential to success, if you need to switch therapists you can do so at no additional cost.

Therapy can also be a convenient solution for many busy individuals. Online sessions fit easily into any schedule, and with video chat, phone, and text messaging options, you can meet with your therapist from the comfort of your own home.

If you’ve been thinking about therapy for any reason, from challenging negative thoughts to focusing on self-awareness, contact BetterHelp or check out the list of Fort Myers online professionals below to get started.

My goal is to help you improve relationship skills, resolve inner conflict, and increase feelings of well-being. If you are ready to step in a new direction in life, that day can be today! I will utilize evidenced based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Family Systems. I also use a 10-Step wellness check to assess if clients are keeping in balance healthy living. I combine these strategies with art, nature, and creativity to help you reach your highest potential, achieve your goals, and overall improve your life. I received my Master’s Degree from Florida Atlantic University and my Bachelor’s Degree from Barry University. Thank you for considering counseling with me. It's a really big step, and it takes a lot of courage to ask for help. I have a Master of Social Work Degree, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida and a Certified Hypnotherapist. I practice from a holistic and metaphysical perspective, because I believe that our physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual experiences are all connected, and what affects one aspect of our lives also affects the others. I have had extensive training and over 30 years experience with individuals, couples, families and groups seeking counseling for issues such as trauma recovery, grief/loss issues, identity and relationship issues, anxiety/panic attacks, eating disorders, life transitions, metaphysical issues, spiritual growth and much more. I help you access, utilize and strengthen your innermost skills, talents and abilities to move beyond your current situation, gaining insight, growth, satisfaction and fulfillment in the process. When we undergo challenging times in our lives, we can often feel isolated, alone and uncertain about where to start to make things better. It is important during challenging times to honor our feelings and be gentle, compassionate and loving toward ourselves during the process, and often our experience has taught us otherwise. With compassion, empathy and understanding, I'll offer the support you need to identify and utilize your strengths and skills to move beyond what you are feeling and experiencing. I’ll help you gain insight about what you're experiencing in order to not just understand these things better, but to develop aspects of yourself that you may have inadvertently lost touch with. Together, we will create specific goals you want to attain, and I'll give you assignments that will help you attain those goals at a pace that is comfortable for you. This can be particularly important when you are dealing with more than one specific issue, which can often be the case. At the same time, it is important to recognize that counseling is a process, and being patient and understanding toward oneself is of the utmost importance and can sometimes be very challenging to do. Still, as you develop patience and understanding toward yourself, it is not only possible, but likely that you can move beyond your current situation to a much better place. With respect to grief/loss, it is important to recognize that not all grief stems from the loss of a loved one. While we commonly think of grief as what we experience with the loss of a loved one, we also need to grieve other losses, such as the loss of a job or relationship through breakup or divorce. Also, while there are formal customs/supports that help us process our grief over the loss of a loved one, supports for other forms of loss can be difficult to find. It is all the more important at such times to seek out the support we need to help us through the grieving process. Participating in a support group, for example, can be one way of recognizing that you are not alone, and that grieving is a natural process and one from which we can experience significant growth and develop new and beneficial life skills. Again, it takes a lot of courage to ask for help, and I am so honored to be a part of your journey. Whatever challenges you are facing, I can help you navigate those challenges and regain a sense of control over your life's circumstances and feel empowered to move beyond them. I'm so glad you're here, and I look forward to working with you.
