Life is ever changing; the challenge is to be able to manage and keep moving forward while maintaining a positive and healthy mindset. Most of the time the answers to our questions, fears and even desires are just a matter of reaching forward to take action and working through it. Let's work together, I'm here to help. We are communal beings and benefit from the assistance of someone coming along side us to help. That is what I believe therapy is a collaborative effort to reach your desired goals. I am a graduate of Regent University (2011) with a Master's degree in counseling, a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. As an outpatient therapist, I enjoy working with individuals, families, and children. I have extensive experience working with groups, individual counseling, premarital, marital, couples, family relationships, adults, adolescents and children. I have worked with children in schools as a therapeutic day counselor, intensive in-home counselor working with at- risk children and their families. I have also facilitated support groups for individuals dealing with depression, anxiety and bipolar.

Francisco Almagro
I have been a mental health counselor for almost 30 years, in Cuba, my country and in the USA. As a psychiatrist, I specialized in medication management, and individual, group, family and couples counseling. I've published articles and books on family and couples therapy. I have been working in a crisis intervention service for several years. After that, I worked at a community mental health service. My therapeutic style is eclectic. I use various techniques that fit with the case and the current problem. I often practice cognitive behavioral, narrative, conflict resolution and client-center techniques. To treat families and couples I usually proceed with the systemic-constructivist model. For individual cases and couples and families I establish the necessary rapport. In a few sessions, customers often make great progress. Empathy, unconditional acceptance and humor are important issues in my work. Having studied and worked counseling in various cultural environments allows me to better understand the dynamics of customers. After I approved credentials in the USA, I have worked in individual counseling with children and adults for over 12 years. I have been professor of clinical psychology in Cuba and in USA. I currently deliver a behavioral analysis as lead analyst for children and young people with autism and other disabling mental conditions. Welcome to the online counseling room, which will be our private and secure place to communicate. You can enter this room from any Internet-connected device wherever you are. To help us get started, can you please tell me what brought you here? Just write a few short sentences about the challenges you're experiencing or what you would like to talk about and we will go from there. Looking forward to working with you, Francisco Almagro (MD, (Cuba), Psychiatric, Specialist, (Cuba), MHC, (EUA))

Life has a way of nudging us toward change—sometimes gently, sometimes not so gently. If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve reached a point where something in your life, your relationships, or even within yourself doesn’t feel quite right. Maybe you’ve been wondering if therapy could help but worry it might be all talk and no action. That’s not how I work. I’m not the kind of therapist who just listens. I’ll tell you how I see it, drawing on over 22 years of experience and my dual licensure as a Mental Health Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. Together, we’ll set clear, meaningful goals, and I’ll provide practical tools and tailored exercises to help you make progress. I believe real change happens not just in the therapy room but in your everyday life, where these tools and insights come to life. I specialize in helping adults, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges and transitions. My work focuses on strengthening relationships, finding clarity during times of change, and addressing those heavy feelings of anxiety or “just not feeling like myself.” I know it can be hard to take that first step, but I’m here to support you. If you’re ready, let’s find a path forward together.
