Megan Sihle
Hello there! I am truly happy you are here and have decided to embark on this therapeutic journey. It is my hope that I can be of assistance to you during the process. I received my Master's of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling, from Stetson University in 2004, and am currently a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I have worked extensively with individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, loneliness, body image distortions, and emotional imbalances. I had a private practice in Winter Park, Florida before venturing to Nicaragua for an adventure and change of pace. I facilitated counseling and wellness retreats on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua for 7 years! I worked with people from all over the world with issues ranging from anxiety/stress, grief, and meaninglessness, to relationship problems and career/life transitions. I am currently back in the United States and calling Miami home. A lot has changed since I left the US for the jungle of Nicaragua, but one thing has stayed the same: I feel it is an absolute privilege to work with client's as they are journeying through the unknown and trusting me with their emotional space. I was born to be a therapist, and couldn't imagine my life having taken any other path. I am also of the belief that a therapist cannot take a client further than they have been willing to go themselves. That said, self-exploration and growth have been a personal journey for me most of my life. I will be the first to tell you that the process may not be easy, and sometimes just downright messy; but with honest work, grit, and authenticity, the growth potential can be huge and often times, life changing. I consider myself eclectic in my approach and draw my therapy style from a few different teachers, however, I tend to favor existential/humanistic philosophies, in addition to holistic modalities. Simply put, we will explore what it means to be human and the questions of meaning, choice, personal freedom, and hopefully uncovering the hidden potential that I feel most all of us possess. I also feel it is of utmost importance to look at the whole person, therefore we will explore and address your issues holistically. Our mental health is only one piece of us, therefore, it can be out of balance if we are not taking care of ourselves in other ways (i.e., physically, spiritually, nutritionally, etc). I look forward to meeting you soon and perhaps participating in the journey with you. I already laud your insight and courage for coming this far. "Challenging the meaning of life is the truest expression of the state of being human." ~Victor E. Frankl
Joseph Mirabella
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and the former Clinical Director of Resolve Community Counseling Center in Naples Florida. Having been licensed in two states (FL & NJ), I have over 27 years’ experience in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling. A retired adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Counseling at Kean University in NJ, I have worked in school and community based agencies, as well as private practice. A Board Certified Master Addictions Counselor (MAC), I have counseled Adults, Adolescents, & Families in both group and individual settings. My wife and I live Naples Florida and are active in community and church affairs. I would describe my counseling approach as client centered with a firm belief that the client is the most important person in the counseling office. I have experience working with clients who have experienced difficulties with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse. Most recently, Military veterans and first responders have been a particular focus of my practice. Regardless of the presenting issues, however, I have found that treating my clients with compassion, respect, and empathy have produced sustained results. I am available to meet with clients to further discuss potential remedies for the conflicts that are making their lives stressful.
Jerrilynn Pratt-Mullen
I have been called a “Soul Whisperer” by clients due to being highly intuitive, however it is more about teaching others to listen to their own intuition,, which knows what is in their most highest and greatest good to have a full satisfying life. I love to inspire others to change the story that they tell themselves about the events that have happened in their lives, as this story was based on inaccurate distortions, emotional turmoil, perceived fear, and outdated messages, leading to psychological, emotional and physical pain. Life is like a mirror that reflects back all the hurt, disappointment, anger, unmet needs, unrealistic expectations, guilt, shame, and disillusionment that a person holds onto as a victim of their circumstances. On the other side of depression and anger, anxiety and panic attacks, trauma and PTSD, borderline personality and addiction is self-understanding, self-acceptance, self-forgiveness, self-respect, resiliency, serenity, peace, and joy. I remember asking one of the counselors that I worked with twenty years ago, “Has there ever been anyone that you could not help as I think I might be that person because I am beyond repair and there is no hope for me.” This counselor laughed and said “Never. I have a partnership with the Creator and no one has ever walked away without experiencing incredible personal growth and you won’t be my first.” She was right! I am 100% committed and dedicated to helping others discover meaning and purpose in their lives by supporting them on their own healing journey to stop the cycle of pain, addiction, violence, abuse, discrimination, abandonment, bullying, neglect, suicide, and trauma, all of which I have personally experienced myself. I am confident that I can help anyone who is truly looking to heal. It is not only about managing symptoms, but finding the source of suffering to promote clarity, healing, honesty, growth, compassion, forgiveness, accountability, self-care, and empowerment. It is about changing the self-talk, inner dialogue and belief systems that no longer serve you and interferes with a healthy mind, body, and spirit connection. I am very passionate about helping others understand the negative thinking and emotional issues underlying mental health struggles and/or substance abuse patterns that keep them stuck, stagnant and enslaved to repeating behaviors that lead to self-sabotage and self-destruction I am a caring, engaging, empathetic, and compassionate professional mental health and substance abuse counselor, with a very strong theoretical foundation in evidenced-based modalities, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Reality Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and additional training in breath therapy to release childhood trauma. I also encourage clients to discover the blocks that hold them back from moving ahead in the areas of career, finances, relationships, personal growth, recreation, health, romance and spirituality. I motivate others to let go of enabling and co-dependency, set and maintain healthy boundaries, practice reflective listening and assertive communication, release grief and loss, and discover the meaning and purpose of living. I look forward to helping anyone that is ready to embark on healing the past, embracing the present, creating a new future, and living an authentic and truthful life.

How should I prepare for my first therapy session with a Port Richey counselor?
Before seeing your Port Richey therapist, prep for your session by reading to understand the process. You might write a list of questions you want to ask your psychotherapist, any emotional pain you may feel, and the ways in which you hope to improve. When you attend your session, you can let our therapists know if you have any concerns or feel unsure about what to talk about. Port Richey therapists here may help guide you with open-ended therapeutic questions while offering mental health services. The first session will often serve as an intake to get to know you as a person and learn why you're attending therapy.
Should I find a therapist or psychologist for therapy if I feel fine?
Some simply don't feel the need to see a psychologist. However, some people may avoid attending therapy due to stigma or preconceived notions of what it might entail. Although psychologists often support people with mental health conditions, you do not need a diagnosis or specific condition. You can discuss grief, relationship concerns, stress, or life changes and ask for general feedback. A Port Richey licensed clinical social worker may help you gain power over your life and emotions while you navigate day-to-day experiences.
Gaining a new perspective on yourself through various therapies might allow you to improve your self-esteem, work through relationships, and gain a better sense of your mental health goals. The success you may find with a Port Richey counselor can be dependent on your process.
People may also attend therapy for specific motives, such as bullying, an autism diagnosis, a desire to learn mindfulness meditation, personality concerns, trouble with office workers, specific phobias, and many other principles that a counselor can help with.
Is mental health care and therapy with a therapist worth it?
Therapy with a licensed counselor is effective and has the power to change individuals' lives. Each client is at a different stage of their emotional healing journey in life, as each human can be unique in their personality, expression, skills, and goals. A psychologist can target various symptoms, experiences, and personalities to help you feel your best and put you on the path to healing. Unlike advice from a friend, family, or non-professional, a mental health therapist has an understanding of various disorders like ADHD and depression with many hours of experience in treating adults in their practice. For this reason, seeing an evidence based psychologist in Port Richey, Florida can be worth it. Over 41 million adults in the US attend therapy services each year, showing it's a popular option and is proven to be effective.

Do therapists judge you in therapy sessions during telehealth appointments?
The boundaries between you and a therapist are in place to help you and them regarding ethical concerns. Mental health professionals are held by ethical standards through the American Psychological Association (APA) and are not allowed to judge or harm their clients. If you are concerned about sharing details about yourself, feel free to withhold personal information. Their job in the therapeutic relationship is to create a safe place, help you gain a deeper understanding of your mental health, and support you. You might consider changing counselors if you don't feel safe or respected.
