I look forward to working with you. At times, therapy takes effort, but it's rewarding to see the results! I like to start with a client-centered approach, because I believe that people often go to therapy in order to process their feelings, clarify their needs, and identify their strengths. Once people have verbalized their goals and their motivation for counseling, I like to incorporate solution-focused therapy and CBT in order to help them solve their problems and achieve their goals. I’m a licensed mental health counselor, and I obtained my master’s degree from Florida State University in 2007. Over the past decade, I’ve provided therapy for individuals and families within a number of settings, including two hospitals, two nursing homes, several schools, a substance abuse treatment program, two outpatient mental health centers, a correctional facility, an eating disorder treatment center, and a community college. I’m also a registered art therapist, and I’ve done art therapy and play therapy with many children. I lived in Guatemala for over a year, where I provided therapy through several humanitarian organizations. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages as well as couples and families. I’m happy to be offering my services through BetterHelp, and I look forward to working with you! Robbie Singh
Hi, I’m Robbie! I help individuals who want to work on themselves to improve their relationship with their partner breaking through dysfunctional patterns without having to engage in couples therapy. My clients struggle as you do. Despite being highly intelligent, ambitious and deeply caring adults, life is hard. When they first come in, they are troubled in their interpersonal relationships with their partners. They have personally reached a breaking point or have received an ultimatum that threatens the relationship that they are in and want to be in. They notice something in their behavior that comes up as a pattern and it worries them that they have no control over it because they have tried to resolve it on their own and have gotten little to no results. This either leads to some feelings of hopelessness or reflection where they start researching intentionally and start to draw some connection into their past. They start to intellectualize the process and look for ways to deal with the problem behavior by treating it as a thinking problem. They read books on the subject of psychology, read articles to self diagnose what they may be perceiving in a desperate attempt to get greater understanding of why the problem is problem. Some of my clients even see therapists as a next step whom they feel were helpful to talk to but feel that the root of the problem remains; exacerbating the problem further where it then turns into demoralization and hopelessness. Their emotional responses get in the way of the life they want in so many ways. They aren’t the kind of partner they want to be. They feel like they’re failing at connecting with themselves and their emotional needs as individuals. And their confidence in establishing boundaries and communicating their needs is tanking. Before they came to see me, clients are concerned that they may not be understood by the therapist or the approach that is being used in therapy will not resonate with their situation. They are worried about navigating the relationships that cause them stress because they are so preoccupied by them. And they are pretty certain that there is a underlying patterns that links between the symptoms they are experiencing now and what they experienced as a child. Attachment trauma can feel overwhelming when it comes to developing healthy relationships. Like my clients, you deserve to feel present and at ease in the moment that you find yourself in right now. Finding balance in your interpersonal relationships is not out of your reach. If you want to cultivate a new way of thinking and living in order to redefine the relationship you have with yourself, I’d love to help you get there. You don’t have to suffer. I can help.

Maria Collar
My name is Maria Collar. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 2013 and most recently I completed a post-master's Certificate with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I specialize in anxiety disorders. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, confidence, and coping skills. I have worked in various settings including schools, community-based care, residential, and agencies. My clients are often individuals and families who know setting a therapeutic objective is important for improving their well-being and are looking to implement the strategies that will assist in enhancing their every day wellness. Each client has a unique situation and needs different personalized techniques—whether that's through individual therapy techniques, learning coping skills, or addressing workplace stressors. You and I will collaborate as we design your therapeutic process by deciding what matters to you and what sources of wisdom are meaningful. I'm a raving fan of positive psychology. The emphasis of therapy should be collaborating, learning, laughing, and thriving to integrate significant therapeutic techniques. Above all, what matters is to establish rapport as we together identify the best ways for you to mitigate your symptoms. You and I are both people with imperfect experiences who cooperate with a shared purpose of implementing personalized strategies.
