Amanda Carter
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I graduated in 2004 from Richmont Graduate University. Since that time I have worked with people of all ages and numerous concerns. I particularly enjoy working with those individuals suffering from grief, trauma, and process addictions such as pornography. I believe a client centered approach is crucial regardless of the therapeutic interventions used. Research consistently shows that the therapeutic relationship itself (rather than the technique used) is what produces most meaningful change. In terms of ideologies I often use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

One author wrote "It's better to build boys than mend men." While I agree whole-heartedly with this assertion this is not always the way life happens. There are multitudes of boys who are in need of mending and countless men who have already grown up without having anyone to build them or help them recover from their wounds. Obviously the home and the community are the ideal places for this to occur, but again we do not live in an ideal world and sometimes it is necessary to seek outside help. I provide counseling to boys and men, in order to offer help and healing, but also hope. I have been in the helping field for over 15 years and offering counseling for over 7 years. I take a holistic and eclectic approach to counseling, whether it be evaluating physical, mental/emotional, spiritual and/or social issues in order to work with clients to determine how they can best be helped.

Hello! I'm Antonía, and my motto is 'Sparkle & Shine!' I truly believe that whatever you're going through, you can come out sparkling and shining like a diamond after it's gone through the 'pressuring' process. The issues we face in life are often rooted in our individual and family dynamics, and my goal is to get to the bottom of those challenges in a safe, unique, and therapeutic environment. I primarily specialize in helping children, adolescents, and women through various therapeutic techniques involving Expressive Art Therapies, such as music, art, and dance. With a background in Christian counseling, I also support individuals who wish to integrate their faith into their healing journey. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience working with a diverse population, particularly children, adolescents, women, Christians, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. My specialties include trauma, depression, gender identity challenges, social anxieties, bullying, ADHD, personality disorders, and substance abuse. I am committed to doing whatever it takes to walk individuals and families from where they are to where they would like to be, or at least start them on their way. In our sessions, you can expect a supportive and non-judgmental space where we will work together to uncover and address the root causes of your challenges. Whether through traditional talk therapy or creative expressive arts, I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
