Hyungbum Kang
I am a clinical social worker licensed in Hawaii with over 12 years of counseling experience. I graduated from the Fielding Graduate University and I have worked with various individuals. In my practice, I use flexible, multi-modality approaches of treatment because every individual has different needs and his/her perception regarding happiness varies. Every individual in society is different so that per their perspectives, they formulate their opinion and a set of behavior. Under the theory of individual perception, the science which sounds theoretically proven and reasonable comes to play its role, resulting in various consequences. However, I believe that the perception created under the societal and scientific rules is not equivalent to neither the human mind nor the psychiatric world of the individual because human beings have unlimited imagination. I am looking for expanding the dimension of variables regarding the scientifically proven therapeutic methods My primary approach to treatment uses an integrated therapeutic modality. The treatment modality is based on four dimensions of bio-psycho-socio-cultural health. I will discuss individualized treatment plan in the beginning of the therapy per the need of your priority list. The treatment plan will be uniquely individualized in align with your specific needs My therapeutic approach stands on viewing the discrepancy between the unlimited dimension of the human mind that limits you in time and space. Exploring the world of the human perception appears important to understand ourselves. Thus, on the unlimited and unrestricted perceptual world of human mind I stand, ready to explore the variables with you LICENSING LCSW # 3684 (Expires: 2021-6-30)

I also hold a doctorate in clinical psychology in addition to graduate and undergraduate degrees in social work with a focus in behavioral mental health. Although I have received training and education in a multitude of treatment approaches and theoretical modalities, my years working as a social worker and psychotherapist have taught me that people can benefit most from an integrative and individualized intervention approach that is tailored to meet their distinct and unique needs. I have extensive experience working with forensically encumbered individuals and have developed specializations in the treatment of trauma, particularly those with a history of sexual trauma, as well as serious mental illnesses (including bipolar and depressive disorders, anxiety/panic disorders, schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorders, and suicidal ideations or a history of suicide/parasuicidal gestures and self-harm behaviors), substance use disorders, anger management, as well as personality disorders, especially antisocial, histrionic, and borderline personality disorders. As a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am very well-versed in addressing the issues most salient to this population, among which include sexual or romantic orientation, gender identity, queer/genderqueer identity, asexuality, intersex individuals, and internalized homo-/transphobia (not an exhaustive list). Moreover, I am experienced in treating couples and relationship issues, in addition to issues related to sexuality and sexual dysfunction (infidelity, non-monogamous/polyamorous folks, BDSM, kink, sexual desire discrepancy, out-of-control sexual behavior/sex or pornography addiction, low or diminished sexual desire, erectile dysfunction, premature/delayed ejaculation, anorgasmia, vaginismus/dyspareunia/vulvodynia). I believe in a collaborative therapeutic relationship that utilizes a combination of techniques and methodologies to help you live a happier, healthier life. I am passionate about empowering those I work with and helping people to rediscover their own strength and reclaim their sense of agency by employing empathy to focus on building insight and resilience, reinforcing coping skills, and working toward positive, lasting change. Mahalo for the opportunity to work with you on your journey of self-discovery and healing.

Joseph Bloom
The methodologies I use in practice are fairly common throughout the therapeutic community. Perhaps my main focus is on DBT or dialectic behavioral therapy. I believe that DBT is extremely helpful in managing intense emotions, In navigating social relationships. DBT works with a variety of disorders to include anxiety, depression, depression common suicidal ideation. Because DVT includes CBT or cognitive behavioral therapy, it is also very impactful in assisting people who have been traumatized either through childhood or through recent events. This provider resides in Hawaii. My approach There are times when humanistic modality is helpful. Maslow's hierarchy of human needs. Roger's notion of the self, or self-concept. I believe that each person has the answer to their maladies. Our work is to help them find those answers. However, perhaps the most frequent humanistic modality used by me is Roger's unconditional positive regard for each patient/client. I work without judgment. I rarely if ever use psychoanalytic methodologies because they are beyond my training and scope of services. However, I have used, successively, psychodynamic methodologies that allow patients/clients some access to the subconscious through guided meditations, Inner Child Work, art, and sand tray therapy. My focus I have been practicing here in Hawaii for 29 years I've worked very closely and intimately with local families and individuals, with military families and individuals, severely mentally ill individuals, individuals who have been traumatized by sexual abuse, members of the L GBTQ+ community, And with folks who just need a little help or guidance in getting their lives headed in the direction they wish. I currently work with individuals. My communication style I hope to create a professional but relaxed tone, where both you and I can speak freely and honestly. I am very easygoing, not likely to tell you what you should do, and practice unconditional patient regard. My journey to mental healthcare When I first got my Master of social work degree, I worked in counseling units and found that I had a true love for practicing clinically. It was then that I decided to get the supervision needed to get my clinical license. I do this work because there's nothing more satisfying to me than watching people get well. My goals for you I work w/ clients to articulate their goals, and then, together, we develop objectives or steps to attain that goal. My first session with you The first session is fairly casual. Discuss the meaning of confidentiality and areas where that can be broken. Important for this provider to hear from the patients themselves what brings them in this day You can expect that there'll be questions back and forth just for clarification, and being as what you would like to have is a goal or outcome of this therapeutic relationship. Sessions usually run about 45 to 50 minutes. That gives me time to prepare for my next client.
