Hello, my name is Sarah Isaack and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wyoming and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Idaho. I would like to provide you with some information about myself so you can determine if I am a good fit for your counseling needs. I have two dogs named Solstice and Sam in addition to a Cockatoo named Pinkerton. I am currently married and have lived in Wyoming most of my life. I enjoy reading, walking in nature, and gardening for self-care, and I am extremely passionate about helping others help themselves. I have been both a substance and mental health counselor for over 9 years and have a degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I have vast experience working with a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, burnout, self-esteem, self-identity, and life purpose. I also have experience working with trauma, addictions, and relationships. I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults in all types of settings ranging from outpatient therapy to residential treatment. My passion is helping clients help themselves so they can become the best version of themselves. I believe individuals should be in control of their sessions and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. I understand how uncomfortable it can be to self-disclose to a stranger as I have been in counseling myself which is why I try to provide a nonjudgmental place to explore counseling issues. I have a strong theoretical counseling orientation with Person-Centered Therapy which focuses on creating a safe and non-judgmental environment. I am also a big fan of Solution-Focused Therapy which focuses on helping individuals create meaningful life goals. At times I will use Existentialism which focuses on the meaning of life. Although I have certain preferences for theoretical orientations, I often use an eclectic counseling approach to individualize treatment for clients. I am passionate about helping others and believe empathy is the key to successful counseling relationships. There will be times I will gently challenge clients in sessions, but I aim to do so in a respectful manner that isn't insulting. I look forward to working with you and hope you will enjoy working with me!

I am committed to seeking out the truth of every matter. I strive for excellence and complete honesty. I genuinely care and will go the extra mile for anyone willing to invest in themselves. I aim to help you make the change you’ve been searching for and to do so with a laugh or tears – honoring both as signs of progress. As your counselor, I equally invest in you and myself. If I encourage you to stretch outside your comfort zone, I have likely asked the same from myself. With growth comes great gains, but first, there are natural growing pains. I will help you garner the courage to step into the unknown. My goal is to help you find strength and clarity despite life's obstacles. With your commitment, together, we will formulate a plan and face whatever challenges stand in your way. I will teach you tools to live more authentically, truthfully, and with courage. Counseling isn’t just about sharing our emotions to feel better, although that is a part of the process. Rather, it is a journey we take with our Self to uncover and discover who you really are. As your unique essence is revealed, inner trust blossoms, guidance becomes intuitive, and what once were obstacles become stepping-stones along your path toward personal freedom.

For over 40 years, I have been serving clients and my community in both California and -- more recently -- Idaho as a psychotherapist, radio talk-show host, college instructor, career and workplace consultant, aging counselor, and child development expert. Being able to recognize the patterns, pain, and issues that prevent people from living healthy lives is an essential skill for any therapist. In my twelve years of academic training and forty years of clinical work, I have fine-tuned this skill and gained a wealth of experience to help my clients achieve lasting, positive changes in their lives. I believe that empathy, trust, and honesty are the cornerstones of the therapeutic process. I further believe that everyone has the capacity for change and self-growth. However, healing and growth can occur only when we feel safe enough to explore the issues that trouble us. Therefore, my goal is to create a supportive environment where clients can explore new ways to resolve their struggles so that they can reach their full potential as professionals, parents, lovers, people. You and I will work actively together towards this goal. By balancing my capacity for analysis with a compassionate heart, I will lend you my strength so that you will have the courage to find you own.
