Hello, I am Dr. Shelia Williamson Collins, PhD, NCC, LCMHC, CCMHC, LCAS, CCS, SAP, MAC. I am a board certified clinical mental health counselor and addiction counselor with nearly 20 years of experience in behavioral health. I am licensed as a clinical counselor in the states of North Carolina, Illinois, and Alaska. I have a PhD in General Psychology from Northcentral University. I also have a master's degree in Community Counseling and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Chicago State University. I have worked in an adult inpatient psychiatric unit, outpatient behavioral clinic, community-based mental health services, and residential substance abuse treatment programs. My counseling style is person-centered. I have a diverse therapeutic approach to counseling. However, my primary approach includes cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. I specialize in mood disorders, anger management, addictions education, and relapse prevention. I believe that everyone has a story to tell; and I am here to listen. Giving voice to your concerns and issues is the first step to healing. We can accomplish this together. It would be my honor to work with you to assist you in reaching your healthy goals. Teresa Robertson
I am licensed in the state of Florida and Illinois as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, LCPC. I have been in private practice since 2014, first in Illinois and currently in Florida. Prior to private practice, I worked in community mental health/social service settings for over 18 years providing a variety of counseling services to a diverse population. I earned a master’s degree in professional counseling from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1999 and recently completed additional graduate level courses in human sexuality, grief/loss, and trauma counseling. During that time, I extensively studied and researched these areas which provided me with additional skills and knowledge on trauma-informed treatment. I completed training for EMDR, Clinical Trauma Professional, Psychological First Aid, and FEMA – community preparedness. I have worked with clients struggling with a variety of mood and behavior challenges including depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma and other stress related issues. In addition, assisted clients with concerns related to parenting, divorce, grief/loss, self-esteem, relationship problems, social/peer issues, bullying, changes/transitions, women’s issues, and work/school/family related stress. My treatment approach is from an integrative perspective, a view of helping people that is not restricted to one approach. I draw from a variety of approaches and treatments techniques including but not limited to, psychodynamic, client-centered, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based therapy, as well as an understanding of how our brains respond to stress and trauma. I work to integrate those therapeutic techniques that are most useful with a client’s unique characters, preferences, and individual needs, as well as adjusting them to one’s social/cultural context. I will work collaboratively with you and encourage your input throughout this process. I am committed to provide quality care where integrity and trust are top priorities. Hello my name is Jim. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who has been working in the counseling field for the past thirty years. I have been privileged to provide counseling and therapy services to individual, couples and families and use an approach that empathizes collaboration and measurable results. My counseling style creates a warm and accepting environment in which people learn to identify and express their feelings so that we can work together to deepen your understanding of feelings and the thoughts that typically accompany them. Once we learn more about our feelings and the thoughts them behind them, we can do more to make changes in thoughts and behaviors that enhance our growth and and help us meet goals. I love challenges and personally asked God to bless me with a position that would challenge me. He answered my prayers and I currently work as a Clinical Therapist for a residential treatment facility for at risk adolescents since Fall 2022. For ten years, I worked as a School Social Worker in Illinois. I am a LCSW in Illinois and Indiana. Prior to the COVID crisis , I worked as a subcontractor for providing home based therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Working in the school realm has provided me with the opportunity to be a crisis interventionist, a change agent, and a community liaison. Yet working as a therapist allowed me strengthen my case-management skills, utilize various interventions, and individualize treatment for each client served. Abandonment, neglect, abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, undiagnosed mental health disorders, domestic violence, and substance abuse are some of the challenges faced by the clients' I have served. I believe in the importance of building a rapport, setting boundaries, and developing a therapeutic alliance. I am a great listener, genuine, and empathetic to my clients' needs.
