Jennifer Morris
Hi! I have been a social worker since 2010 and I feel privileged everyday that people allow me into their lives on such a personal level. If you are reading this, you have made a HUGE step in deciding to focus on yourself and give yourself some time and attention which is brave and scary. Social workers, therapist, counselors all receive training to do what we do and many are extremely skillful and knowledgeable. The key to therapy being successful is finding the therapist who you feel comfortable with. I am not everyone's cup of tea but I may be the right person for you. I have worked with a variety of people in my years of practice. I have worked with court mandated clients, birth mothers placing their babies for adoption, adoptive families, hospice patients and their families, homeless Veterans, medical social work with Veterans and justice involved Veterans who are in prison, jail or on probation. I have experience providing group and individual therapy related to trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, anger management, grief and loss, domestic violence, end of life concerns, life transitions and parenting. I believe that everyone is capable of instituting change in their life and sometimes don't know how to take the first steps. I believe my role as a therapist/social worker is to look at everything going on with that person, ask questions and assist them in creating a plan and working through the steps. I am not a "textbook" type therapist in the sense that I do not follow a script based on what my client identifies as their concerns. I approach everyone individually and create a plan that works best for each person. Everyone has strengths and abilities and I am always so excited when someone realizes their strengths and draws on them to help themselves move forward. That is my joy - seeing the people I work with grow and flourish. I am someone who will challenge you, be honest with you and push you to work toward you goals. I look forward to hearing from you if you think we sound like a good fit and if not, I wish you the best of luck on your journey. The right therapist is out there... just a click away.

Jack Richey
Welcome to Better Help! You may be wondering how this works and whether it would be right for you. My name is Jack Richey. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois. I earned my Master of Social Work degree, specializing in Interpersonal Communication and Change from the University of Iowa. I founded and directed an outpatient mental health clinic. I have worked on an inpatient behavioral healthcare unit. I had a private mental health counseling practice. I retired in August of 2021 after thirteen years of providing out patient mental health counseling services in a psychiatric wing of a local clinic under the direct supervision of a psychiatrist. I've worked with individuals, couples, and families who have had to address a variety of issues. These have included employment difficulties, depression, anxiety, stress, anger, family and relationship issues, self-esteem, divorce recovery, and parenting problems. My counseling style combines Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, and Solution focused approaches. I do not have a “cookie cutter” or “one size fits all” approach. Each person is unique with specific needs. I try meet clients "where they are". I believe we can all grow through challenging experiences by increasing self-awareness. Sometimes another person who isn't directly involved can offer a new perspective. Having additional support can guide people through a difficult situation when they feel stuck. People all want to be able to share their personal experiences, be accepted, and feel understood. I believe it's very important to be open-minded and non-judgmental when people share their personal stories or experiences. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life. Your life and your goals are important. If you are ready to take that step toward change, I am here to support, encourage, and empower you. I look forward to working with you!

Rochelle McGhee
Hello! My name is Rochelle McGhee and I applaud you for reaching out to take care of yourself. Here is a bit of information about me and my therapy style. My master’s degree is in Clinical Psychology. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) for Illinois and have over 15 years of experience providing counseling services. In 2018, I obtained certification (CADC) to assist people working to address alcohol and substance abuse issues. I incorporate a variety of modalities into the therapeutic process, based on your needs; however, my overall approach is based on the principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – a form of cognitive behavior therapy. This type of therapy places a heavy emphasis on learning mindfulness skills to help you manage your thoughts and attention. DBT also helps you develop a toolbox of other skills to manage emotions, address interpersonal challenges, and relieve chronic distress. I have supported individuals with a variety of challenges such as depression, anxiety, conflicts within families and other relationships, traumatic histories, and difficulties regarding forgiveness. Every therapist has a personal style. Mine is anchored in respect for the client and your innate ability to grow and meet goals. I have a patient approach while maintaining the focus needed to move forward. My intention is to always assist clients in feeling empowered, heard, and valued. I consider us to be partners on a journey, figuring out what works best in creating a life for you that is manageable and meaningful. I check for messages throughout the day, as my schedule allows. This means that if you reach out to me on one of my scheduled workdays, my goal is to respond within that same day. On other days, it may take up to 24 hours for me to respond. I also offer morning and afternoon appointments for live sessions, 3 days per week. I am ready to support you and look forward to our work together!
