I graduated from Loyola University in Chicago with a Masters of Social Work. My formal training, coupled with counseling hours have provided strategies and solutions to relieve depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation and focus. I have years of experience helping clients cope with both the symptoms as well as the underlying causes of their struggles with issues of anxiety, trauma and PTSD, depression, difficulty managing anger, alcohol or other substance use disorders, and relational difficulties that often stem from low self-confidence and the need for updated and enhanced communication skills. My clinical style combines a personal approach that aims to make the client feel genuinely understood, supported, and safe. I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions that help to update coping skills and strategies, while operating from a psychodynamic base that can facilitate both shorter- and longer-term psychodynamic psychotherapy for deeper-reaching, more stable positive change. I am also certified to provide EMDR when appropriate. I received a Master's degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2010. I currently reside in Louisiana.

Hearing the words, “you can’t”, “you will never amount to anything”, or believing that your circumstances define your future can be daunting and make you feel worthless. I am here to tell you that none of that is true. Change is attainable! I can help! Let me assist you with navigating through those difficult emotions by learning healthy coping skills designed to create a positive image built on self-love, self-worth which will aid in fulfilling and meaningful relationships. Once the layer of trauma has been peeled back, you will develop insight into patterns that no longer serve you and begin the journey of rediscovering You! I have over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I utilize various treatment modalities (i.e., cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused, etc.) ) to assist within and beyond services. Also, I am certified in working with victims of sexual abuse and youth with sexually maladaptive behaviors. You have unique circumstances, so you deserve an approach that is client-centered. Karen Morris
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 37 years of experience, I've observed how childhood trauma can develop coping mechanisms that may become dysfunctional and evolve into such things as depression, anxiety, codependency, problematic work relationships, substance use, and even addictive patterns of behavior that serve to dull and impair one's ability to express their needs. As you enter into therapy with me, I believe you will find someone who listens intently, paying attention to not only what you say but also to the underlying emotions and patterns of which you may not be aware .I I will respond with compassion, honesty and at times humor and odd ball references to music, books, sit-coms and movies ( I tend to lean toward fantasy and sci fi, just for the record). I hope to help you find what you have been missing. You bring the flashlight, I will bring the map. I think it will be an awesome journey.
