Diana Hope
Hello, my name is Diana Hope. I am a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker in Kansas with 20 years of experience working alongside people from the ages of toddlers, children, teens, and adults including senior citizens. In addition, I have worked with a great many clients in their 20s and 30s, from Black American, Hispanic, Asian, White American, African, European, and South Pacific backgrounds. Together, we’ve talked openly and implemented plans to relieve life’s pressures and progress towards important goals. I have known people of diverse Faiths. I also have considerable experience with military service clients. When we begin I am most interested in your reasons for seeking support and the things you see as standing in your way. Especially at the beginning and as we move along, I will check with you about my understanding of your concerns and I will ask you to clarify and correct wherever needed. We’ll talk about possible ways things could get better for you. I am a warm and compassionate person. I want you to feel comfortable and safe in therapy. I seek to be respectful, kind, and honest. As we become better acquainted, I hope we’ll share humor from time to time since laughter is wonderful medicine! I will meet you where you are at. And I encourage you to tell me what pace is comfortable for you. My focus is: on you as a unique individual, sharing with you methods that are evidence based and known to work, while also supporting your growth and feelings of well-being. For you to seek out support is Brave and Forward-thinking! I’m here for you.

Beginning your healing journey is not easy as life experiences and changes can be difficult to navigate and can take you out of your comfort zone. I believe in providing an environment that is warm and nurturing to provide a safe space for you to work at your own pace. I have been in the mental health field for over 15 years; working with adults and youth that is geared toward meeting the needs of each individual. My non-judgmental approach to counseling is built on a foundation of rapport, trust, collaboration, positive regards and empowerment. Each session is intentional and designed to provide you a safe space to work on becoming the best version of yourself; there is no issue too large or small that cannot be addressed in counseling. My current work schedule for open sessions: Monday-Friday 9 am first session - 4 pm last session.

Life happens and it is so easy to keep going without slowing down enough to address your experience, especially when it is difficult. Your experience matters. Your child's experience matters. Your family's experience matters. Every single person deserves a space to feel heard and understood. I desire to help others (children, families, and adults), seek their resolution, whatever that might look like. Addressing difficult experiences, talking about emotions, and pursuing change can be scary. I am ready to walk alongside you in that journey. I have 5 years of experience working with kids from the ages 6-18, assisting with parenting tools, the family system and providing individual therapy for adults. I strive to use a Trauma-Focused approach, Attachment-Focused Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and I remain client-centered in every aspect of what I do.
