Kimberly Williams
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my master’s degree specializing in Children, Youth and Families, from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers)! I understand that reaching out for support can be frightening, especially to a stranger, but I assure you that I am a very open-minded, non-judgmental, and down-to-earth therapist with over eight years of experience and expertise to offer you. I have extensive experience providing quality services in a wide range of areas including depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral issues, relationships, interpersonal dynamics, communication, self-esteem, school/career issues, anger management, stress management, psychoeducation, and life skills. My clinical modality is that of a client-centered approach focused on a strength perspective and cognitive behavioral therapy. I am very positive, honest, and comical, at times, but I also like to "keep it real" to help you get the help that you are seeking and achieve your treatment goals. A lot of my clients have referred to me as having an "old soul" because of my level of maturity and experience and my ability to relate to others on a diverse scale. I lead my practice with dignity, respect, confidentiality, and trust for every individual that entrusts me with their most personal and vulnerable circumstances. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. *A little about me: I am a mother of 3 - a young adult male, a teenage girl, and a toddler boss! I love retail therapy, listening to inspirational messages, and reading self-development books. If you think that we would be a good fit, please do not hesitate to reach out to me! It would be my pleasure to assist you!

Maria Sands
My name is Maria Sands. I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work and a State license to practice Social Work in Louisiana. I practice from a Bio-Psycho-Social perspective; that is, I look at the whole person as an Individual who is also part of society. I have worked in medical and psychiatric venues which adds to my ability to address issues such as comorbidities and psychotropic medications. My specialties include Anxiety Disorder, ADHD, Bi-Polar Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder. I use CBT, Deep Relaxation Techniques, Self-Affirmations and Journaling among other techniques and treatment approaches to address these disorders. I have had a good deal of experience with adults and the elderly with pre-existing conditions, such as kidney failure. I think I can help because I come from a Bio-Psycho-Social perspective and because I tailor my treatment approach to the clients I am treating. Different techniques work better for different people.

You’ve decided to take the next step in improving your mental health and I commend you! Therapy is a safe place to begin your process of healing and/or obtaining the necessary coping skills to maneuver through what can be life’s most difficult moments! I am dedicated to helping you get through those difficult seasons. I am here to assist with processing your thoughts and feelings related to stressors—grieving the loss of loved ones, relationship difficulties, past traumas, depressed mood, and/or concerns related to your future. Learn the skills to thrive and not just survive. You deserve it! I have 20+ years of experience working in the field of mental health. I whole-heartedly enjoy being a therapist and will work proactively to help you resolve the issues that keep you unfulfilled. I believe you have enough inner wisdom to guide your healing, which has driven you here. Here’s to an amazing start! I will support your ability to recognize your innermost voice, connect with your deepest self, and ultimately find the healing you are seeking. I see counseling/therapy as a process in which you the client, and I having come to understand and trust one another, work as a team to explore and define present problem situations, develop future goals for an improved life and work in a systematic fashion toward realizing those goals. Working to help clients understand and identify their own strengths and incorporating coping skills. Helping them to exemplify their strengths while processing aspects of the past to create and understand their present and future. As we work together to reach the goals you set forth, I will ensure that you are empowered to take the reins of your life and make this experience your own.
