Hi! My name is Linda Guidry, but please, call me Lindy. (My mother was the only person to ever call me 'Linda!") Are your life challenges holding you back? Do your current problems drain your energy and undermine your ability to reach your full potential? I believe that within each of us is the desire and the ability to thrive, love, connect, and succeed in life. At times it can be overwhelming to surmount the difficulties and stress of living in today’s world. You do not have to do it alone! I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor and Counselor Supervisor. I am licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana and the state of Alaska. I have been working in the mental health field since 2004. I earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Guidance and Counseling in 2008 from the University of New Orleans. Over the past 16 years, I have worked in several venues: private practice, in the foster care system, in a day program for chronically ill adults, and in the non-profit sector. My experience includes working with individuals with mood disorders, anxiety and depression, anger issues and self control, self-esteem, grief and loss, and adult onset disability and chronic illnesses. I would describe my approach as empathetic, goal oriented, and client centered. I use Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution focused therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness to help my clients set goals and objectives and to work through their difficulties to reach their full potential We often find ourselves searching for balance and stability in our lives but have trouble figuring out how to achieve it. My job is to help you do just that. I am dedicated to assisting you, as my client, in pursuit of personal growth, to helping you to gain a better understanding and appreciation of yourself and others, and to support you as you make important changes and decisions about your life. People seek out therapy for a wide variety of reasons. Sometimes it is an overwhelming lack of direction. Often, it's a result of major life changes, loss, psychological injuries, or specific issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, or grief. I offer a private, safe, non-judgmental, and confidential environment for you to explore your concerns, find relief and to bring joy and passion back into your life. I look forward to accompanying you on your journey of self-discovery, healing, happiness, and wellness! Available hours Monday - Thursday 9 - 4 CDT Friday 12 - 3 CDT Saturday and Sunday by appointment If these hours are problematic, please call this to the counselor's attention. I will do my best to arrange a time that is workable for you! Linda D. “The Secret of change is to focus all your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”- Socrates. Many of us were conditioned to accept and live with situations in our lives that we wanted to change but felt we could not or did not know how to. By seeking out counseling support, you have taken the first step to respond and not react and change your emotional climate. I am Gala Oliver-Singh, and over the past 17 years I have had the privilege to witness numerous transformations occur when people just like you have taken the risk to have a different relationship with change by responding instead of reacting and be in trust instead of distrust with change. When we do our transformational work, we can experience the gifts of growth, joy, and opportunity that these changes are here to teach us. I decided to become a Licensed Professional Counselor when I was a client, doing my own transformational work. This profession has provided an opportunity for me to help other people do their transformational work and learn to tell and live new stories that reflect the positive choices and changes they want to experience in their lives presently. My goal in pursuing a Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from Louisiana Tech University was to use what I’ve learned in turmoil to actively bring others to a better position in their lives. I have worked in a variety of settings with many different client groups. I have a demonstrated passion for and commitment to educating and empowering individuals and groups that have been historically marginalized, stigmatized, and oppressed, specifically ethnic, and sexual minorities. I have facilitated personal growth support groups for LGBTQ (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) young adults and served as a mental health consultant addressing identity development and the coming out process at a Safe Zone Training. I have provided individual, family, and group mental health therapy for children, adolescents and adults in outpatient clinic and community settings; provided individual and family therapy, intervention and support services to parents and students as a school-based mental health therapist; and was responsible for counseling, educating and empowering battered women and their children to make choices that result in safe, independent and violence-free lives in my position as a domestic violence family counselor. My approach to healing, wellness, and mental health is client-centered, relational, and based on a flexible, collaborative approach. The goal of our counseling relationship will be to identify healthy new behaviors that you choose and to incorporate them into your life. I am here to help support, inspire, and motivate you to make those changes. Together, let’s create a healing, non-judgmental, safe environment to help you transform and live your best life. SPECIALTIES: • Ethnic and sexual identity issues (multicultural issues; LGBTQ issues) • Anxiety • Depression • Relationship issues • Youth development and adjustment (young adult counseling) Also experienced in: Parenting issues, Family conflicts, Coping with life changes, Career difficulties, Life purpose, Self-care Clinical approaches: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy Years of Experience: 17

I have years of experience helping clients cope with both the symptoms as well as the underlying causes of their struggles with issues of anxiety, trauma and PTSD, depression, difficulty managing anger, alcohol or other substance use disorders, and relational difficulties that often stem from low self-confidence and the need for updated and enhanced communication skills. My clinical style combines a personal approach that aims to make the client feel genuinely understood, supported, and safe. I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions that help to update coping skills and strategies, while operating from a psychodynamic base that can facilitate both shorter- and longer-term psychodynamic psychotherapy for deeper-reaching, more stable positive change. I am also certified to provide EMDR when appropriate. I received a Master's degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2010. I currently reside in Louisiana.
