Thank you for taking the time out to view my profile. Finding the right therapist to meet your individual needs is a very important step and I am hopeful that I will be able to assist you. I find great passion in assisting my clients in meeting and surpassing their full potential. After I obtained my Bachelors degree in Psychology, I continued my education and received a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am licensed in multiple states, a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Clinical Supervisor, and a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider. I have experience with working with individuals of all ages, ethnicities, races, religions, sexual orientations, and genders. Although I use multiple counseling techniques (Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered, Solution Focused, etc) in order to meet my client's individual needs, my work with clients is primarily from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy perspective. I believe that the connections between rationality and emotion as well as mind and body are essential in accomplishing behavioral change through logical thinking. Becoming more aware of damaging automatic thoughts and acquiring the ability to revise cognitions impacts one’s behaviors and ultimately may lead to positive change. In addition, I hold a great appreciation for the unconscious and the power it has over one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The intimate process of making the unconscious conscious is a fundamental step toward growth, development, and change. Being able to recognize how unresolved conflicts from the past influence the present and manifests in unhealthy cyclical patterns gives one the power and confidence to take control. It is my belief that therapy is an intense, engaging, rewarding, and collaborative process. One of the main purposes of therapy is for one to gain a deeper understanding of self by exploring personal experiences, perspectives, and expectations. Regardless of the presenting issue, I provide my clients with a high level of respect, honesty, and genuineness. After successful completion of therapy, it is my hope that my clients will be able to incorporate what will be presented throughout therapy sessions into multiple life circumstances.

Let me start off by saying, I admire your braveness for seeking support and your dedication to yourself! Sometimes life can be overwhelming for a variety of reasons or for unknown reasons. It's very common to not feel okay and to not know what to do to make it better. What are your goals and what is in stopping you from reaching them? These are some of the concerns that bring people into counseling. I find Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to be a beneficial technique to help people make changes in their thinking, which ultimately leads to changes in their behaviors. As a therapist, I will not tell you what to do or push my own agenda. Instead, I will challenge your current beliefs and thoughts to give you the confidence and tools to help you help yourself. If you are nervous about starting this process, therapy or counseling does not have a specific look and will be tailored to what you need. Respect, active listening and a nonjudgemental approach are very important factors in building a strong therapeutic rapport. A little bit about me, I am a clinical social worker who is licensed in the state of Maryland. I earned my Bachelors degree in psychology from James Madison University and my Masters of Social Work (MSW) from University of Maryland. I have over 11 years of experience and have worked in a variety of environments including hospitals and outpatient clinics. I have worked with clients who have many different needs, so please feel free to be open about what you are experiencing. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, parents and young adults. Depression, mood disorders, life changes, ADHD, anxiety, stress management, behavioral concerns and family issues are some of the reasons that brought people into therapy. I wish you much success in your journey of becoming the best version of yourself.

I am licensed in Maryland with 23 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse in individual modality, & career difficulties. I work primarily with married couples, providing both premarital and post-marital services in a specific protocol. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am glad you are getting started! The purpose of my services is to provide counseling and treatment, however I am unable to provide services of disability related, as I am not trained, certified nor an expert in this area. As a final note, please understand that IF you are driving a vehicle (or riding) and not parked, or have a third party present with you, are sitting in a public restaurant or other public area, or using alcohol or other substances during our session and possibility you may be charged for a missed appointment, I will respectfully notate a missed appointment – no-show and request for your session to be scheduled at a time when you are ready for your MTG. I request for you to be online, at the time of your scheduled meeting, and to be wearing headphones, in order to start on time. This is to prevent delay and out of respect for each other but also any appointments scheduled after your mtg. Further, I request for individuals and couples to strive to use headphones that are not Bluetooth, but are wired, for your protection of your privacy. On a note of clarification, as this format is not conducive to certain issues, this provider will refer to either another provider or a higher level of care. For example, if there is any emotional, physical/DV, sexual or financial abuse, high conflict or fights, which includes any potentiality of violence. On this forum I offer Brief Solution Focused Therapy and not long term therapy. If a couple is trying to determine whether or not to continue the relationship or marriage, this is better served with a different type of service, perhaps mediation, chaplain services, or even an individual modality. As this may be against the Code of Ethics, this provider cannot assist with determining whether to continue a relationship or marriage. Thank you, in advance, for understanding the nature of my services and for sharing your journey with me.
