*The first step to getting anywhere, is deciding you’re no longer willing to stay where you are! * Hi and welcome! My name is Karin Johnson and I want to thank you for visiting my page. Reaching out for help is always a challenging, but important step, and I am glad you've taken that step! First, let me introduce myself to you... I received my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Arizona State University and received my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I have worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups of all age ranges. My style is warm, empathic, and non-judgmental. I want you to feel comfortable working with me. My counseling style is relaxed and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, strength-based modalities, solution-focused counseling, psychoeducation, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness practices. I look to highlight a person’s strengths and their positives in their lives, and to work through personal difficulties and together, overcome life’s challenges to reach your goals. My role is to assist you in developing the needed skills and confidence to live your life to the fullest. Some of these skills may include improving communication, understanding healthy boundaries, and developing good relationships. I like to set practical goals with you, to help make changes in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that solve problems. I will provide resources and worksheets as needed, so you can continue to focus on your growth outside of messaging or our live sessions. If you want support to start addressing the issues that are holding you back and causing you discomfort, then I would really like to start working with you. I have the warmth, insight, and skills so together we can help you build healthy coping strategies.

Courtney Kozarian
My name is Courtney and I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist in Michigan. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University and have been working in the mental health field for the past 8 years. I’ve worked in a variety of settings which has allowed me to refine my skills in a number of areas. Some of these include individual therapy, relationship therapy and family therapy. My particular experiences lie in working with individuals experiencing Depression, Anxiety, Life Transitions, Substance Abuse/Dependence, Psychosis and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As a mom to two young children, I am also passionate about working with individuals experiencing Postpartum Depression and Postpartum Anxiety. My approach to treatment is client centered; you are the expert of you. I believe every person has a unique story, influenced by all of the situations and life experiences leading up to this moment. My goal as a therapist is to build a warm and trusting relationship with you in order to support and encourage your personal growth and change. Therapy shouldn’t have a ‘one size fits all’ approach and I love working closely with my clients to find the approach which will work best for them. I am trained and experienced in providing Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first step towards change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you! I am available for chat, email and video/phone sessions. I typically check messages daily in the mornings, mid-day and again in the evenings.

Mandy Dalrymple
Welcome to BetterHelp! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience in the social work field, and over 10 years experience in counseling adults, teenagers/ adolescents and couples. I believe in establishing a good rapport with you first and foremost, for counseling to be successful. I am an active listener, empathetic and non-judgmental. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, self esteem, parenting struggles, relationship issues, identity issues, life transitions, anger management, work/school issues, trauma, financial concerns, emotional abuse or grief/loss—I’m here to help you learn how to cope and meet your goals. In addition, I also have extensive experience working with individuals who have a diagnosis ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorders, PTSD, and Substance Use Disorders. I have my Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Michigan State University (1999) and my Master Degree in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University (2010.) I have successfully helped individuals and their families during my time working in foster care/CPS/adoption, Hospice, Community Mental Health, New Directions Behavioral Health, a private inpatient psychiatric & detox/rehab hospital and at a private counseling agency. When I’m not helping others at work, I’m spending time with my teenage boys (if they aren’t gaming!) and our pug, Lucy. We enjoy spending time by the water, watching the local Marching Band and making memories with extended family. Personally, I enjoy writing, reading, photography, napping and listening to music. I strive to help you feel comfortable to discuss your situation and want to work together to help you develop realistic, achievable goals. I genuinely care about you and your well being. I wish you the very best on your journey! I look forward to working with you!

Dr. Michelle Davis
I am a professional counselor, certified executive, and health coach. I have nine years of experience helping others overcome challenges and create purposeful, meaningful lives. I have worked with clients with various concerns, including chronic pain, chronic illness, stress, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, family problems, and career challenges. Many individuals I have worked with have had traumatic experiences. As a counselor and coach, one of my greatest strengths includes noticing and appreciating each person's unique characteristics. I do not treat everyone using the same approach because each person's response to stress, motivation to change, decision-making, relationship-building, and thinking styles are unique. As a result, I customize my approach accordingly. I draw from my extensive training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Neuroscience, Motivational Interviewing, Positive (Strengths-based) Psychology, Mind-Body Medicine, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to draw out the best in you. I view the therapeutic environment as a safe place to explore relationships, whether those relationships are with people (family, co-workers, partners) or things (food or money). I also believe an important part of therapy is addressing the social, economic, and cultural influences on a person and that the therapy process should be collaborative, with the client seen as the “expert” on their life. It takes great courage to take the first steps toward change, seek a more fulfilling and happier life, and determine your personal goals. But, if you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you on this journey to create your best life. I look forward to working with you!
