I welcome you and commend you for seeking help as I know it can be challenging to do so. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan, having graduated from Western Michigan University with a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have 6 years experience as a therapist. I am also a husband and a father of 3. I have a love for the outdoors and learning new things. I am also an avid fan of hard rock music. I would describe therapy as an organic process, much like a relationship. As with any relationship it takes time to develop and requires honesty and vulnerability on behalf of both parties in order to grow. It can be hard to take that first step and ask for help. My focus is to meet you where you are in your journey and support you as you face life's challenges. I am here to work with you to aid in greater self awareness, utilize strengths to solve problems and discover hope. The process of change can be both challenging and rewarding. I am excited to have the privilege to join you on your path and help you discover the next steps.

Often, we feel stuck in our current circumstances; that is, we are so accustomed to the "usual" way of living our lives that change seems impossible. My specialty is helping you identify what is problematic in your life, explore the feelings about it, and then devise a suitable action plan that addresses the problem and moves you beyond it. The problem is no longer insurmountable, and together we find an acceptable way to ease your mind. We also develop your coping skills, so you are more prepared to recognize additional challenges as they arise. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, Michigan license) and Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) with 20+ years in organizations working to identify performance problems among the workers, work, or workplace. My experience includes a private practice, work within employee assistance programs, and spiritual direction. Specialties: Life choices Career planning Stress & Anxiety Trauma Cancer diagnoses

I have long dreamed of becoming a therapist due to the positive impact therapy has had on my life. As a young girl, my mother took me to a counselor to help me process my parents' separation, prior to their divorce. There was quite a significant change for me in many ways as I was aided through the painful transition in my family. It was during this time that I started to realize the impacts counseling had on my life. It also began to grow a need within me to serve others in much the same way I had received. Recognizing the importance of my first counseling experience, I continued to seek counseling on and off throughout the years myself. I truly believe that I would be a different person, potentially lost in a dark place, were not for therapy. Because of the positive impacts therapy have had on me during my life, it is my passion to pay that forward and positively impact those in need of help and guide those in need of new paths. I graduated from Wayne State University with a Masters in Counseling. My professional roles have included special education teacher, and counselor. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, teens, and parents. My education and career path, coupled with my life experiences have molded me into the person and counselor I am today.

In my trauma-informed, mind-body integrated therapy, I draw upon a blend of ancient wisdom and modern approaches. I explore whether my clients' diet is nourishing, balanced, immune-supportive, and beneficial for their gut microbiome. I integrate practices, e.g., yoga and meditation into contemporary frameworks like EMDR, IFS, and polyvagal. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to share my own personal journey of healing and growth with individuals seeking assistance. It has been a profound privilege to witness patients steadily decrease their reliance on medications and experience remarkable recoveries from enduring mental health challenges.
