Kelly Messing-Mirabito
I am a professional counselor and I have been practicing for over 20 years. I have worked with many areas including anxiety, stress, self esteem depression and life transitions. I graduated with my B.S. from Oakland University and my Masters in Counseling also came from Oakland University. I believe that life will always have it's struggles and that we can all benefit from counseling. Life can throw things at us that we are not prepared for and I can be that person to help you through life's challenges. I am a great listener, compassionate and empathetic. I will meet you where you are and help you progress towards your goals. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Behavioral Therapies. It takes courage to be able to admit that we are in a place that we can benefit from help from someone else. You have taken that first step towards change and I would enjoy working with you. I am looking forward to working with you on life's journey. This platform is not appropriate for those feeling suicidal. Tia Gitgood
I have seen first hand that life is hard. I have been encouraged to see the power of therapy across all settings and over all barriers. I have seen lives changed; I love my job. My name is Tia Gitgood. I am a Social Worker licensed in Michigan, Tennessee, and Georgia with over 10 years of experience. I have worked in various settings from in-home to community clinics. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from Georgia State University. I utilize a mix of therapies. My priority is to help my client. I work to stay up to date on new research to ensure that if something can help, I know about it. I primarily utilize cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, and motivational interviewing. I believe the whole person must be treated. If you are not your emotional best, your body will tell you. I would love to take this journey to healing with you when you are ready.

Cathy O'Brien
Hello, my name is Cathy O'Brien. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Michigan. I earned my LMSW from Michigan State University in 2011 and have over 10 years experience working in the mental health field in numerous capacities. My experience includes, but is not limited to, working with children, families as well as individuals with a wide range of concerns including: depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, relationship and/or self esteem issues. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have worked with many people who have experienced trauma such as abuse or grief. In addition, I have worked with people to help them establish stress management skills to help them overcome challenges and cope with whatever life throws their way. One of my favorite quotes by Catherine Pulsifer that I like to share says "We are all faced with challenges at some point in our life, challenges that we did not create. Challenges that happened beyond our control. The difference is how we respond to these challenges. You can adopt the attitude that there is nothing you can do, or you can see the challenge as your call to action." I understand that talking to a stranger can be very uncomfortable and a scary and it is for that reason that I begin by developing a trusting therapeutic relationship in an effort to make you feel more safe and comfortable. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity and empathy. My approach combines a mixture of therapies (CBT, TF-CBT, MI, Solution Focused) based in the needs of the individual I am working with. As a result of COVID and some of the changes it brought, I have done this work both face-to-face in an school/clinic setting as well as virtually. It takes a lot of courage to step outside your comfort level, acknowledge and ask for help. If you are ready to take the first steps toward your 'call to action', I will offer you support. I look forward to working with you!

Lisa Warden
Hello! My name is Lisa Warden and I am a licensed Social Worker. Prior to completing my college, I worked as a massage therapist. I am very aware of the mind-body connection and how we can use our body to heal our mind. I’ve worked most of my career with helping those in recovery from Trauma, addictions, and personality related issues. These symptoms often really hold a person captive and away from the fulfillment of potential and in a constant state of survival. It gets me very excited to see a client who has been through hell, begin to thrive and enjoy life in a way they may have not thought possible. It can be very challenging to reach out for help and schedule a session. I offer a warm and flexible style (and often include humor) and I actively work to meet each client where they are and offer the encouragement and the skills to assist getting clients to where they'd like to be. I look forward to working with you!

Samantha Synett
Hi - I'm Sam! My pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a licensed clinical social worker and certified life coach who loves working with clients ages 20-39. My clients get the best of both worlds when we work together: the clinical expertise of a mental health professional combined with the consistent encouragement and accountability structures of a certified life coach. My clinical expertise is in treating posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, complicated grief, and adjustment disorders. I've worked with a diverse range of people throughout my career including specialty populations such as service members and Veterans, oncology and hospice patients, and college students. I use evidence-based therapy modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Grief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Crisis Response Planning. As a coach, I love coaching people around topics such as self-compassion, boundary-setting, life purpose, money mindset, decision-making, and assertive communication. My therapy style is empathic, direct, and goal-oriented, and I am extremely collaborative in my sessions. I want us to be on the same page, and we will work closely together to develop your treatment plan, overcome your "stuck points," experience healing, and begin truly living your life, again (not just existing in it!). You will quickly notice my laid-back nature in our sessions. I encourage all of my clients to come as they are, and I will do the same! You will always be welcome and encouraged to ask any and all questions that come up during our sessions because I want you to take an active role in your care. I am passionate about teaching my clients how to advocate for themselves as it is a necessary skill to thrive in the world we live in today. Finally, my practice is rooted in my values, some of which include anti-racism work, healthcare equity and inclusion, and having unconditional positive regard for all people. I am just as interested in your unique background, identities, and life experiences as I am your presenting mental health symptoms, so we will talk about both equally! I've worked with a variety of client populations such as military/veterans and their families, LGBTQ+, college students, oncology patients, foster/adoptive parents, and individuals experiencing homelessness. I consider it a great honor to serve as a vessel to your story and experiences, and I love helping my clients who have survived trauma reclaim their power and take back their health and future. You have already done one of the hardest things, which is reaching out for support! I have learned that the only way out...is through. I'm looking forward to walking alongside you in this next chapter. Beautiful things await on the other side...see you there!
