My practice is based on the knowledge that we are all holistic beings with physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions, dynamically woven together to produce the unique individuals we are. I am certified in Interactive Guided Imagery (sm) and Thought Field Therapy, and have additional training in behavioral nutrition, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR ), and NeuroModulation Technique therapy. I work primarily with adults (both men and women) on issues of grief and loss, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, trauma, and motivation. When we work together, we will do more than just “talk.” We will work with the resources you already have but may not know how to access, and develop a few new tools in the process. I have a Masters degree in Counseling and hold a current License with the Minnesota Board of Psychology. My approach in working with people is to try to help them understand how thoughts, behaviors and emotions interact and to look for ways to re-think the situation, create new behaviors, and to improve their emotional state to allow for better coping mechanisms. I like to work together to define the issues and establish goals toward resolving them. I am a licensed psychologist in Minnesota. I have been working with Veterans and first responders for the past five years. Prior to moving to Minnesota in 2019, I was working with active duty military personnel and their dependents. As a master's level mental health professional, I worked in a Level 3 prison for two years. I also worked in community mental health for three years, providing clinical services to Pacific Islanders and Native Hawaiians, and in private practice doing assessments for police department candidates. In my current practice, as a Health Psychologist, I help clients manage health behaviors such as disordered eating, quitting smoking, vaping, dip, alcohol abuse, exercise habits, and sleep problem. Of course, I also manage mental health problems like stress and anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and some personality disorders.
