Life situations and transitions can be challenging at times. My goal as a therapist is to offer a confidential and healthy environment for us to explore your concerns together. I strive to provide quality and compassionate care, meeting you where you are at, and helping you experience insight, growth, and healing. My approach to therapy is very relational. I want to know who you are and what you want from life. My hope is to guide you on the path that leads towards the full life you deserve. I specialize in eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, oppositional behaviors, grief and loss, body image concerns as well as relationship issues. I have specialized training and experience with eating disorders and follow the most current evidenced based methods for symptom management. I have completed an intensive training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for trauma. I also integrate Christian beliefs with client who request this approach. Once we begin the journey together, we can decide the direction towards healing.

Steven "Steve" Allen
Welcome! I commend you for taking these steps towards creating change in your life. It takes courage to seek help and to consider letting someone get to know you. I have over a decade of diverse clinical practice with a Masters in clinical social work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an additional Masters in Ethics from the University of Chicago. I love this work and am a relentless believer in the power of human change. I have extensive experience in the areas of past and present abuse and trauma, family of origin issues, relationships, sexuality, as well as in managing the symptoms of anxiety, depression, and the sometimes unhealthy coping strategies that can emerge from both situational and chronic stressors. My style is warm, interactive and approachable. I believe in helping you see things you may miss in yourself and in others. My clinical approaches will vary with your preferences and needs. I believe humans are incredibly resilient and I will start with seeking to understand both the challenges you are facing and the strengths you already bring. I will work incredibly hard to ensure you feel respected, supported, and that you walk away with tools you find helpful to manage your current concerns as well as those you may face down the road. I look forward to working together!
