Hello. I have a passion for learning about, discussing and treating symptoms concerning stress and emotional dysregulation of anger, depression, and anxiety often associated with attachment/abandonment wounds that create challenges in relationships with oneself and others. My name is Beverly Vanover and I received my Master’s of Science Degree in Community Counseling from John Brown University. My experience in the field of mental health includes working in community mental health at hospitals, schools and day treatment. I have experience facilitating mental health and 12-step program groups for the community, as well as in the institutional setting. I am a board-certified telemental health counselor (BC-TMH), certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP) and a nationally certified counselor (NCC). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arkansas (TA-technology assisted), Missouri, Colorado and Texas. I have a passion for learning about, discussing and treating emotional dysregulation and symptoms of anger, depression, and anxiety often associated with attachment/abandonment wounds that create fear of intimacy and relationship problems. Please note that my clients will need to be located physically in either Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado or Texas at the time of live sessions and when counseling occurs. I want my clients to be partners in their healing. I want them to understand how powerful their minds are - how mind and body are connected. Healing of emotions related to relationships like anger, anxiety and depression, life transitions, lack of fulfillment or adjustment to changes are possible. We will get through this together. You want to be HEARD- I get it. You want to find your voice - I know that. If it is important to you, it is important to me! I know you are tired of doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. You want to self regulate in order to get control of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. People notice my passion for working to help them heal, feel heard, achieve goals and live the life they want to be living. I strongly relate to the term "wounded" healer so that means that I am compassionate FOR and empathic TO your needs. Contact me to schedule an appointment. I can help you improve the quality of your life. Let's start today! Hello and welcome! Because you're reading this, you're probably thinking about therapy. Let me tell you that you've done a great job so far in seeking help, it's definitely not an easy step to take and I'm a huge believer in celebrating the small things. There's something to be said about a person who wants to better themselves; whatever draws you here, I hope you find what you're looking for. Here's a little about me to help clarify any questions you may have: I have a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2016) from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas. I later moved to Missouri and am now a licensed professional counselor in the state of Missouri. I've worked as a therapist in several different settings such as college counseling centers, rehabilitation centers for drug and alcohol use, and in the private practice setting. In these environments I've helped people manage concerns with depression, suicide and self harm, issues related to relationships with themselves and others, anxiety, sexuality and the LGBTQ population, and addiction. I've also been able to work with people that have experienced trauma and family conflicts. Each therapist operates from a certain style and orientation in which they approach the counseling process. Usually, it's a multi-faceted approach and I believe that the key is to remain flexible. That being said, my main approach tends to be relatable, personal, and straight forward. I believe in transparency in sessions, meaning I'm not afraid to be real with you while helping to guide, support, and validate your experiences. Therapy is a vulnerable process so it's my job to help you feel safe and empowered. In doing this, we'll talk about your strengths and what makes you who you are, and use those to help achieve your goals. I believe that you're the expert of your life; I'm just here to help you talk through it and I find that through positivity and humor, life seems a bit more manageable.

I am a clinical social worker in Missouri who has over 14 years of experience providing therapeutic services. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with a diverse group of clients from different ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds. They’ve struggled with an equally diverse set of challenges. Some of the issues I’ve worked with most frequently have been relationship and communication issues. Additionally, I work with people struggling with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, low self-esteem and low self-confidence. Some of the clients I see regularly have been diagnosed with adjustment disorder, major depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, bi-polar disorder, etc. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, as well as a mindfulness-based approach. I work with clients on setting goals, and together, we take baby steps toward reaching those goals. In the process of reaching your personal goals, you’ll learn ways to recognize what triggers your negative moods, and how your thoughts, behaviors, and moods are all directly related to one another. I practice a comforting, conversational approach to therapy. My goal is to make you feel safe, secure, and free to discuss your concerns and worries. We’ll work together to create a therapeutic relationship that is encouraging, inspiring, and teaches you effective coping skills to ensure you are successful in your everyday life.
