I have 20 years experience working with a variety of issues, including depressed patients, PTSD (combat, domestic and other traumas) anxiety, aging, and cognitive problems resulting in difficulty communicating rationally and calmly. I have worked 5 years in substance abuse, worked with homeless severely mentally ill and nine and a half years working with service members and their families. My perspective is more long term. As a mother and a grandmother I tend to think beyond immediate consequences and impact of one's actions. My thought is that I need to know what you want therapy to do for you and we work together to find a path to your goal. I am less prescriptive than questioning and working to find out what fits you best. We may start with smaller goals to get you where you are going or you may have decided what you think will work best for you. Cooperation in therapy means that you can leave the therapeutic environment ready to steer your own course rather than advice giving which may cause you to second guess yourself. For therapy to be successful we must be guided by your goals and vision for yourself. If ever you feel we need a course correction I am ready and willing to offer treatment in line with your beliefs and insight. I am strengths based in my approach. You have gotten along this far because of the strength and skills you possess. Therapy will build on the strengths you already possess and add other skills to your strength inventory. When people are depressed and anxious or have other disturbances they tend to focus on "what's wrong with me" ignoring the fact that they have already lived through 100% of the challenges life has thrown their way. Let's find out what your strength inventory is and find new skills to move you on the path that you choose. HOURS Monday through Thursday between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM Monday through Thursday between 1 PM and 4 PM Monday through Wednesday between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM Saturday morning 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

I take a non-judgmental stance because I believe diversity is what enriches my life and those around me. I also adhere to my professional code of ethics where taking an unbiased approach is a necessity. I am extremely energetic and creative in my approach with therapy. I strive to keep my clients engaged providing various options and encouraging them to overcome challenges, fears, or reservations about trying new things. I do regular check-ins to make sure my approach is having a positive impact on my clients' lives and that there is a continuation of progress towards goals. My clients are treated with dignity and respect, but I will be assertive in a respective manner when addressing patterns of behaviors that are impeding progress. Cognitive behavioral approaches are the foundation of my therapy, but I also use eclectic interventions through trauma, solution focused, and client centered modalities, making adjustments that fit my clients' communication and personality styles and needs. I am also a trained Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. I believe continuity of care and ongoing support is crucial in therapy services and check my messages minimally three times a day. I have been a licensed therapist for 10 +years. I have helped adults as individuals that are seeking someone they can trust, to help them attain their goals. Having a therapist that you are comfortable with is key. Therapy can be short-term and sometimes the issues you are facing require a journey that takes more time. What do you need help with, and what can I help you with, to find solutions that work for best for you? Partnering with a therapist can really make a difference. I am non-judgmental and accepting. Many people are struggling now with isolation or no support system. It is not uncommon to need more support at any point of your life. Therapy is here to help you feel better when stuck. It is not uncommon to feel ashamed, sharing with family and friends while needing extra support. Therapy is a great tool to help work through issues when you don't know where to turn. Every client will be treated with respect and dignity. It's not about "fixing you", but to help you, be empowered and work together to make a plan that makes your life better. Therapy is most beneficial when matched with the right professional. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. My professional background is extensive and has allowed me to work with many cultures, ages, and stations in life. I come from a teaching and management background, and returned to graduate school later in my career to complete a Master in Social Work. All of my adventures have led me to love clinical work because I am able to help clients from many different backgrounds. My approach to therapy always starts with learning about where my client is right now and why they chose to come to therapy. Once we establish workable and realistic goals, then I can determine which clinical approach may work best. This can be Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, or perhaps solution-focused therapy. Each individual is unique, so one approach may not meet that client's needs. It all depends on what works best for the client
